They call me "tater salad."

Another masterpiece from the DOOL hair and make up staff.

Friday's episode was completely schizophrenic. Some of it was really good, some of it was craptastically bad. Unfortunately there was some fugly.

To be fair, I'll actually start with the positives. James Scott totally rocked the episode. No friggin doubt about it. He kept handing Nicole rope, and she kept pulling the noose tighter. Nicole has a huge "tell." She's thinking of a lie when she looks down to the left. Great job of acting by Ari showing Nicole coming up with new lies. So EJ finally knows some of the truth. About friggin time! I can't wait for Monday.

I actually enjoyed the Sami scenes today. Ali and Josh always had a wonderful father/daughter chemistry. It's nice to see a loving parental relationship that isn't dysfunctional. Ali looked very nice today with her job interview outfit and headband. Ali's scenes with Eric today were cute too. I'm glad that the show injected some reality here by having Sami have problems finding work.

The Bad
Taylor's bangs are back. The less said about the teen stuff today, the better.

Meredith is still bizarre. I don't feel any concern for Rafe. I don't get how Meredith was able to drag a grown man to the pier and push him off in broad daylight with no one noticing. But her masonry skills were excellent. lol Figures, we were this close to having another "buried alive" storyline. Once again, I would have been cheering for the victim to die.

The Fugly
Seriously, wtf was that scene with Carly and Lawrence thrown in at the end? It was totally out of nowhere. The Diva guesses that DOOL was trying to throw a teaser in there. It didn't work. The scene was completely out of place. This is not a good sign of things to come. All they had to do was tease the whole episode with just voices and shots of the set, until the big reveal at the end that it was Carly and Lawrence. The fugly was obviously Lawrence's hair. My goodness, he looks like the comedian Ron White. I bet they do call him "tater salad." lol

What did you guys think of today's eppy?

  1. So, are we to believe that after 16 years, only NOW has KATERINA had enough of Lawrence and fought back.

Again, no problem with their return had it been when it mattered and when other actors were not fired and then repeatedly told they were not wanted, and that they were fired to save the show. Lawrence should have been part of the Jack/Steve return. Katerina could have come back loyal to Lawrence, and have it that she actually was not the perfect doctor she pretended to be. Heck, they then could have had James as their son, it would have made more sense than he being Elvis, Jr., because during that time Nicholas was Sami's age, not born after Will.

  2. The Jack/Lawrence boat sailed a long time ago.

I'd have liked to see Lawrence interact with his brother/cousin/pooltoy John or Steve or even Tony. Alas! Insane Lawrence vs Insane Andre could have been delicious.

  3. Viewers who weren't spoiled about Carly's return and have never seen CC and MS on DOOL must have had a double WTF reaction to that out-of-the-blue Carly/Lawrence scene (all 10 seconds of it).

I'm bummed that Lawrence will be on the canvas for a pathetically short period of time. I'm terrified that one of Salem's vapid teens is going to turn out to be Carly's long lost child.

  4. poor Michael Sabatino his hair was all sorts of crazy. Hopefully they'll leave his death up in the air so he could come back.

  5. so help me if Mia or Melanie turns out to be Carly's kid I just don't know what I'll do. Perhaps right an angry letter to TPTB (yea like that'll help)

  6. Oh please God, don't let it be Mia.

  7. truth be told, if carly's kid is one of the teens currently on the show I want it to be Melanie. She amuses me.

Of course, I've only been back to Days for about 2 weeks now ... so I really don't know much about the teen characters.

  8. The Ej scenes were good : intense, drama. (Nicole lies and lies and lies and lies, it's endless..)

In a totally opposite mood the Sami scenes were good too : light, funny, good chemistry between Brady/Sami and Roman/Sami. She is so much better without Rafe.

    I suppose to care about Rafe's fate ? Because i don't.

The cliffhanger for me was powerful. You feel in just some seconds the actors screen presence. CC and MS are good. The Carly's stare : dead eyes when she stabs Lawrence; good work.

  9. Loved the EJ scenes and him toying with Nicole while she dug herself deeper and deeper. Very well done.

ITA that the Sami looking for a job scenes and the scenes with her father and Brady were good.

    Rafe and Meredith. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The Carly thing at the end was strange and out of place. I'm sure it will be fleshed out next week, but I'm wondering why it was tacked onto the end like that.
