Update on Bryan rumor
Soap Opera Digest says Bryan Dattillo will be "briefly off the canvas." Soap OperaWeekly quotes 'a rep for the actor' as saying, "He'll be on less, but he won't be totally off the canvas". Lucas is going to rehab on September 25th.
And that is how it all begins, first step in the axing of another actor. And the gutless PTB who tell the actors at the last minute, over the phone or on their answering machines that they are fired.

But we are bringing back Matt, Missy, Stephen, Mary Beth, Thaao and Leann! Because they can act and they are the ones the fans want to see!"
Bill Hayes wasn't even on contract. It made no sense to kill off a non contract character.
ReplyDeleteBut he was old, and involved in part of a supercouple, JERk hated anyone who was part of a happy, devoted couple, built on love, and who did not prance around shirtless with 6-pack abs for him to drool over.
ReplyDeleteIt pisses me off that TPTB treat Bryan and Lucas like crap. They've done it in the past when he was fired for Brami, and they did it again when he was booted for months so Ejami would have no interference (when Lucas went to prison).
ReplyDeleteBryan has been sent off-canvas before and returned. Here's hoping he'll be back and that we're not being lied to.
I wish Days would get a clue and listen to what fans want. This show has become unrecognizable thanks to Higley and Tomlin.
First rehab and then he will be in Bora Bora or something like that. Bryan put his heart and soul into Days, and dedication does not seem to be welcome thing. Besides he was never on a cancelled soap,and cancelling soaps is Gary's "Genius" so I guess he does not fit in!
ReplyDeleteOk I am just going to say it. Bryan will never be a leading man on DAYS, he just won't. His character, Lucas, is a smuck! Lucas is a weak little man who lets women walk all over him. He is a momma's boy to the extreme. Sami and Nicole controlled him. Carrie and Chloe cheated on him. No men respect him. Hell I don't think Lucas respects himself. Will loves him but I don't think he respects him either. If they don't get rid of the character of Lucas then they need to take this character and turn him dark - let him grow a pair. Because if they don't Lucas will forever be a smuck!

ReplyDeleteI feel bad for Brian and I hope he doesn't loose his job, but he's always been a supporting character. Austin, Brandon, EJ, and even Rafe (even though he is boring as hell) are leads who the GA obviously find entertaining enough that the writers write for them. I honestly think BD lasted this long because AS went to bat for him, because IMO he would already be gone. The writers don't want to write for him;especially Tomlin who is focased on keeping his Passions actors front and center.

ReplyDeleteLucas has tried to kill people and he tormented Sami too. Lucas is stuck he can't play the hero, he can't play a villain. He can't even win the women. The writers over the years have made Lucas into the biggest wuss on daytime. Didn't he run a brothel once? Sami and Lucas together are also the worst couple on daytime. Their green wedding was a flop. (no surprise there) Sami was always the stronger of the two characters which left Lucas looking like a fool most of the time. The best thing for Bryan would be if he was cut from the cast and go on to do better things.
