Diva Picks - 9/21 to 9/25

WINNER OF THE WEEK: STEFANO. Congrats to Steffy for his rip-roaring wedding where the champagne flowed (courtesy of little Theo Carver) and for getting laid! But I think he’s already discovering that his new sons-in-law are going to prove to be monumental pains in the ass.
LOSER OF THE WEEK: CHLOE. For a while, I admit I thought it was nice to see a couple reunite and be happy in love, especially after witnessing the brutal BOPE argument in the same eppy. But then Chloe began blathering on about if it was okay with God if she reunited with Daniel. Like God doesn’t have better things to do! And then after being in bed with her Hunkahunkaburninglove, she starts whining about Lucas. She truly doesn’t seem to know what to do with herself besides whine about something, even when reunited with her lover. Damn, Kate, why couldn’t you finish the job you started?
SCENES OF THE WEEK: Some pretty good stuff this week so it’s hard for me to pick a stand-out. The BOPE fight was intense. Kate sweeping Stefano’s chess pieces to the ground was a pretty cool moment…and she even lived to tell the tale! Kate’s pre-wedding scenes with Phillip and Victor were great. Kate’s post-wedding scene with Daniel was good. The wedding was fun. There was a little LUMI for old times’ sake before Lucas gets shipped off to rehab. Even Lucas’ scene with Loser Chloe was good. The scene with Phillip and Stefano the morning after was cool. And EJ’s reaction to Stefano’s marriage was priceless.
PERFORMER OF THE WEEK: LAUREN KOSLOW. I know I’m sounding like a broken record, but she rocked the week again.
ZINGERS OF THE WEEK: VICTOR. Pretty much every sentence he uttered during the Wednesday episode. My favorite was his line to Stefano before the wedding. “Well, keeping her out of jail works well for you too, huh? You wouldn’t want to consummate the marriage in the conjugal visitation trailer? Ugh!”
MOST MANUFACTURED RELATIONSHIP OF THE WEEK: SAMI and BRADY. Okay, it’s bad enough that all the sudden they’re the best of siblings when they always hated each other before. It’s bad enough that Brady’s had a lobotomy and thinks he’s her older brother. But now they’re just getting closer and closer…so there’s obviously going to be some nasty Sami/Brady fallout that we’re going to have to stay awake through because he kept the truth of Nicole’s secret from Sami all this time. This is as contrived as the stupid Sami/Nicole “friendship”. Why not write the plot according to the characters instead of changing the characters to fit the plot?
"Why not write the plot according to the characters instead of changing the characters to fit the plot" ?
ReplyDeleteYou know since the beginning of this storyline Ej became a uber idiot, Nicole can not do wrong in her schemes, Rafe is a uber hero...so don't be surprise. Dena Higley as a writer doesn't think too much. Now this is finally the period of revelation with the aftermath...so now we can just enjoy the ride, the juicy drama DRAMA drama... lol
So, I finally got why Stefano married Kate, and is saving her, because she tried to kill Chloe and in doing so hopefully ended her opera career for good, there is no greater sin for an Italian than the butchering of opera.
