The Biggest Loser
It's interesting how certain contestants seem to stand out. Shay was on Julio's butt for not working out enough. And of course, he dropped a ton of weight that weigh in. lol Everyone did well this week except for the pink team.
Alison told the contestants this week that they would have to lose 150 lbs combined in order for no one to go home. Week 2 is a notoriously bad week for TBL. In week 2, some contestants have actually gained weight. The body goes into shock after losing so much weight in week 1, and it starts to panic, thus the contestants tend not to lose as much weight in week 2.
The contestants first went to meet with Curtis Stone and his awesome accent to learn about proper cooking and portions. They answered 5 out of 8 questions correctly about Curtis's presentation. They were rewarded with 15 lbs being lowered from the 150 lb goal.
Their challenge consisted of them walking across a balance beam as a team. Each section of the balance beam completed gave them another 5 lbs to their goal. At the end, they had 20 lbs shaved off their goal, leaving them with 115 lbs. Also, they were able to call home.
At the weight in, the group ended up losing 155 lbs total. They did not need the pounds they earned during the challenges.
What struck me the most was the personalities. Coach Mo is a wonderful motivator. He's also the oldest, I hope he goes far. There's always one contestant every season who is the slacker, this season it's Julio. Eventually Shay will lay the smack down on him. That should be fun.
