Comments

  1. I see them saving money at ABC but using the ABC studios for AMC and GH. And they then will get rid of OLTL, and save money there. I think that was why AMC moved to California, they want to get rid of taping shows on the East Coast, and AMC has more of a history and is more known than OLTL.

By the end of 2010, or 2011, I see only Y&R and B&B on CBS, GH and AMC on ABC, and no soaps on NBC. I also wonder about Soap Net, they no longer have shows it produces (SOAP TALK, that soap actor biography show, and Wally's 1 DAY WITH) nor are they showing old soaps and old primetime shows, but teen shows and bad movies, I would not be surprised if that goes too.

  2. Could it be that people were actually interested in seeing a frontburner storyline that involved the one and only remaining supercouple? Naaaaah! That would actually contridict Tomlin's theory of how to run a successful soap. And we all know he's the master of that game.

  3. No, JERk his mentor is the genius of soaps, and the one who saved the genré in the 90s, according to all his fanboys and the J/M fans who thought Santa in Salem was actually high drama.

  4. I don't understand the negative comments about these ratings. They are quite good and NBC could keep his only soap opera. And i say that although i don't like the storylines right now. Definitly boring and to slow but it seems many viewers like them.

  5. Diva, all I can say is that DOOL is lucky that most viewers enjoyed Ransom the first so around and was willing to watch it again. There's no doubt Bope and Ciara's kidnapping brought those ratings.

Also have to add hypocrite Rafe being nosy about the baby switch also helped. I don't know why, but I'm sure viewers thought the reveal may have been coming to an end....but I guess Tomlin showed them. The spoiler free GA don't know they'll have to wait until November sweeps for that shit to end.

  6. Who has DOOL found to bribe at Neilson? LOL! The show is horrible and deserved a 1.7. I only watched a few minutes of two days and could not take any more. I truly wonder about the accuracy of the Neilson ratings.

Thanks for your blog Diva!! I always enjoy it.

  7. I think the reveal reveal of the babyswitch storyline (who doesn't want to end..zzzzzzzzzz) is for november, finally !!
I am just looking forwards the actors performances with these exposures, maybe an Ej/Stephano fight, explosive confrontation will bring good ratings..who knows..

  8. I think Days is awful, but looks like a lot of people out there are enjoying it. Crazy. They are in it to win it for the fall. I don't see how soaps like GH, OLTL or AMC will ever catch up.

  9. AT least they ripped off a good movie.

Reilly ripped off Jerry Springer for Passions.
