Diva Picks - 8/3 to 8/7

August 3rd thru August 7th
Winner: Lucas. He found out his wife was cheating on him with the family doctor, that his mother was responsible for poisoning said unfaithful wife…and he still managed to make it through a whole week of episodes without getting plastered.
Loser: Nicole. I don’t know what’s more annoying: the billionth conversation with EJ, possibly leading up to some kind of movement in this interminable storyline but always ending up just to be a teaser moment…or her weird Donald Duck voice when she talks to Sydney.
Scene of the week: Daniel and Kate in the jail. No matter that she managed to enter his cell without so much as showing a drivers license, much less having a key…this scene had heat to it, reaching a crescendo when Daniel took off his shirt, daring her to frisk him. If there had been this much “snap crackle pop” in their love affair, maybe this storyline would have more teeth.
Performer of the week: Lauren Koslow. Even though the plot is crap, Lauren’s doing the best with what she’s got to work with. Slowly we’re seeing Kate unravel, teetering from desperation to maliciousness and back again as she works 24/7 to maintain damage control over her plot to kill Chloe.
Line of the week: Kate to Daniel (regarding Chloe): “No, she’s not ‘dead’ dead, but she is brain dead…which, come to think of it, has been her state of being forever.”
Ok i like Arianne Zucker, she seems really sweet and charming, and lately she has made a pretty good job as Nicole despite of this awful storyline and this awful writing..but i am really glad to see i am not alone to being really annoying by her "Donald Duke" voice to speak to Sydney.
ReplyDeleteBabies are not dumb, no need to speak to them like they are mentally weak.
I can't stand people who make this. So stop Arianne !!
I think that Nadia is the winner this week since she put in the best performance of her career as a comatose patient. I've never seen her emote so much! WTG Nadia!
ReplyDeleteMaybe she can do that as a profession, just be a corps or a comatose patient, and she still can wear tons of mascara and still have her chest prominent in the scene.
ReplyDeleteThat should have be "corpse"and not "corps"
ReplyDeleteBabies aren't dumb but they do love to be entertained by funny voices. Nothing wrong with it. Mothers have always done it.
ReplyDeleteMy problem is with Kate's breathy voice. Is she taking lessons from Marlena?
You can entertain babies by lot's of other ways more funny and without make you a fool by making "donald duck voice" (and by the way it's not funny or cute but just ridiculous) and many many mothers and the other actors don't make that.
