James Ford
Suddenly, I forgot what I was going to blog about. *drools*
Finally, we get a James Ford eppy. In any of his lives, James is still getting some. That's good to know! lol We see James pulling his usual con. I was disappointed that James reverted back to his old ways in his new life. Turns out, James is a cop trying to con a woman who has a husband that the cops are looking for. His code word for the police to bust in is "la fleur."
James' partner is Miles. There didn't seem to be a sign of this Miles talking to the dead. Miles sets up James with a blind date. His date is Charlotte. Great chemistry between those two. He gets her in bed. lol She finds his "Sawyer" file while looking for a t-shirt. James flips out and kicks her out of his apartment. The next day, James thinks Miles is upset about Charlotte, when Miles is actually upset about James going to Sydney when he said he was in Palm Springs.
That night, poor James is eating a microwave dinner. Maybe he can share coupons with microwave dinner buddy Ben Linus. James watches an eppy of "Little House on the Prairie" about death. James shows up at Charlotte's place with a sunflower like the one he gave Juliet on the island. Charlotte's not interested.
James tells Miles the next day about his parents' death and who Sawyer is. A car slams into them with the driver being Kate.
On the island, which is always more interesting, James is tending to Jin. Jin wants to get away from nuLocke. James is sticking with nuLocke since nuLocke promised to get him off the island. It's too late for Jin to get away because the posse shows up. James seems surprised to see Kate. Claire and Sayid weren't interested in James at all. NuLocke tells them they are going to camp for a few days. James is not happy and calls him out on it. NuLocke confesses to being the smoke monster to him. It's amazing how nuLocke uses the truth to his advantage. So James knows that nuLocke killed everyone at the Temple. NuLocke said he did it because they wanted to kill him. I didn't get that feeling, I thought they just stayed there hoping he couldn't kill them there. A big fib on Locke's part. Locke sends James to the Hydra Island to check it out for him.
James discovers the mostly intact plane. He finds a pile of bodies. Then a completely unrecognizable Sheila Kelley from LA Law runs passed him. Zoe feeds James a line of bull about being the only plane survivor. Zoe's friends pull guns on James. He asks to be "taken to their leader." lol The leader is Charles Widmore in the submarine. James agrees to bring Locke to the Hydra island for Widmore to kill. But Widmore never said he wanted to kill Locke. James comes back to the island and tells Locke the truth. He also mentions the locked door in the sub.
Kate has a bizarre conversation with Sayid. Sayid is clearly not well. Claire attacks Kate. Locke picks Claire up and throws her like a rag doll. Claire starts screaming at Kate. Locke totally bitch slaps her. Man that was shocking! Holy crap. Even Kate had a wtf? look on her face. Locke takes Kate to the beach to tell her that James is on the Hydra Island across the water. Locke explains to Kate that he told Claire that the Others had Aaron so she would focus on revenge instead of missing Aaron. That's a crock of shit. He used her to kill the Others. Locke tells the story about having a crazy mother and going through "growing pains." He could be telling the truth. But I was thinking it was either the real Locke talking about his schizo mom and living in foster care or SmokeyLocke using Locke's story to get sympathy from Kate. I'm kind of surprised that Doc Jensen on ew.com's Totally Lost site didn't pick up on that. NuLocke doesn't want Claire to be with Aaron. He was clearly putting the idea in Kate's head that Claire is an unfit mother. That also reminded me of the baby issues on the island. I wonder if Smokey somehow hexed the island of motherhood because of his alleged mommy-issues.
Kate and Claire make up. Claire almost seems normal. James comes back to tell Kate he is on no one's side. He wants Widmore and nuLocke to duke it out while they escape in the sub.
Overall, an interesting eppy mostly because Josh Holloway is amazing. Not much action. But the Claire smackdown totally rocked. lol
I love reading Doc Jensen, but his theory that the smoke monster is really Daniel Farraday is really far fetched. I don't think the monster is anyone we know, he just is what he is.
Next week is our Richard Alpert episode. Finally! The sneak peek is of Jack's bonfire party. Sun explains the candidates thing to Jack. Jack asks Ilana what to do next. She doesn't know, but then looks at someone that we can't see. I'm assuming it's Richard.
Love me some Sawyer/Josh Holloway.
