DAYS insider Judie Henninger twittered "Thursday, 2/18 Sami/Lucas scene for all you Lumi fans". Is this one last LUMI goodbye? Or dare we hope that maybe Lucas will be written back on the show?
I would love for Sami and Rafe to finally settle, and Lucas makes his way back. With in mind, on getting Sami back. A SAFE and LUMI triangle is something I was hoping for. I hope they do bring Lucas back at a later time.
I want Safe dead perso ! And if we can't have Ejami i want Lumi back and above all i want Sami to come back !!!! Right now Sami Brady is DEAD, it is Carrie on screen. (Christie Clark must be pissed, she even can't play her character whereas she is at Salem ! lol).
I agree with the second comment EJ is Samis' true match but there is alot of history and love between her and Lucas and it is at least beleivable...Rafe does not really know Sami because she hasn't been herself for at least a year bring back the real Sami and keep Lucas on screen
It goes back much further than Safe. Sami hasn't been the real Sami since EJ raped her. She became Sami the Victim (then later Sami the Martyr). The real Sami would have eventually wreaked revenge on EJ, not cowered and cried all the time during his psychological torture that followed.I hated how EJ always had the upper hand, always had the power. I hated his sick satisfaction and glee in wielding that power. Yet I was supposed to believe that EJ loved her. Uh, okay. I loved Lumi for many reasons -- including that they were always equals who gave as good as they got. IMO, ruining Lumi is one of the biggest mistakes the writers have made in the last 5 years. Watching old YouTube clips, it's a damn shame that Days threw something that good away. Much of what has followed for Sami has been crap, despite good performances by the actors. From EJ to Rafe, the writing has slowly but surely ruined the character of Samantha Gene Brady.
Last anonym i disagree with you ! The relationship between Ej and Sami was complex, really complex for a soap opera relationship. More subtle and qualified than what you describe (and maybe more subtle for the usual writing for soap opera couple).
When he black-mailed her for getting a Dimera heir, yes she cried and covered after the event but it was when she was with Lucas: always apologizing to him, always telling him she doesn't deserve him whereas when she was with Ej she was fierce, turned down him, gave him as good as he got (hey she wanted to burn him alive she even believed she burnt him alive). It was a challenge and yes a twisted game between them during this periode, a bit like a tennis match, not healthy but riveting to watch (even if of course this blackmail in the car stays an awful decision made by the writers). After that Sami was the one who had the upper hand in the relationship, he blackmailed her again but it was really Stefano the puppet master (actually it was the case already with the rape where Ej was the good soldier who obeys to Dad's orders) and after that he betrayed his dear father, at this time Sami influenced him and not the opposite. Her behaviour was totally different in her interactions between the two guys, face to Ej she was strong whereas she sniveled, apologized most of the time with Lucas, it was certainly not a relationship where two people are equals sorry. Between Lumi the first time they went together in 2003-2004 yes it was a good relationship, but after that when Lucas chose to believe his mother instead of her and rejected her because he believed she cheated the writing was not good anymore for them. He always demanded she change, he always saw himself as the "good, moral" person in the relationship and Sami as the screw-up, not accepting her for who she is. Right now with Rafe it's even worse, she has lost her personality, she always apologizes, cries but above all she never questions him, she worships him. He dominates the relationship, she is always with him, passive, waiting for him making "miracles", she is totally dependent. We never see her with her children but just Rafe where he goes away, comes back, they make love and she says nothing..she is like a needy, weepy, dead weight, she is not even the shadow of herself, she is not Sami Brady : simple as that, sad but true. Sami should be alone, taking care of her children, getting a job, interacting with her family. If the writers can write Lumi again like a funny, light, teasing duo i am ok with that. But a single Sami for a while interacting with an Ej where the two make amends and learn to accept their errors, with after, a built-up Ejami relationship where they challenge each other like only them can do it and respect each other would be the golden idea. But we know the writers are not enough clever for that, unfortunately..sigh..
I have been watching clips of Sami and EJ to see if I would like EJ or Rafe and to be honest it brought me to scenes of Lucas and Sami and that is a chemistry of love, desire, hate, and needing that has not been replicated. If you fans actually looked at Sami and Lucas's relationship from the beginning you would agree. LUMI FOREVER I also stopped watching Days after I saw these clips and refuse to watch until they bring back Lucas.

ReplyDeleteI agree. Sami is being "Carrie'd". No one wants her as Carrie. We want her as SAMI, damn it!
