Not a AMC viewer, but I remember reading that a theory was that TPTB at ABC were expecting, HOPING, that some of the actors would opt out of the show with its move to the Left Coast -- seems to me he was one of the actors speculated as to not wanting to move with the show.
Iconic character on AMC and great actor (with two really different personality for the twins Adam and Stuart Chandler). Sad to see him go but if it is his choice, good for him.
