A blog that i would love to follow if you could take a look at mine and maybe comment or some thing. I'm new. http://billypuddles.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteSo I thought CC was going to save DAYS, the ratings have not continued to improve, and are stagnant at a pathetic 2.2. But even playing a lesbian on GL, a storyline which gets publicity could not help that show, do the morons really think rehashing yet another woman from Bo's past to break up the last super couple will help the show?
ReplyDeleteSo, if the show continues, what next, Britta, then Megan and then Emmy, every two years another woman from Bo's past.
Well I think the notion that CC was going to save Days was ridiculous to begin with. One person cannot save a show which is an ensemble. And I would say that nothing was going to save GL - no matter how much press or accolades a story got because CBS and P&G wanted the show gone.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of CC fans have tuned into Days (I know I have returned to the show because of her), but that doesn't necessarily mean they are watching the show live (which is how ratings are counted). They can simply watch the Carly parts on youtube and skip the rest. Further a lot of Otalia fans were overseas (huge following) and so they cannot watch Days - but can follow on youtube, just like they did with GL.
As for the whole "last super couple" thing - why is that important? Why do Bo and Hope automatically have to end up together? I used to like them back in the day, but now I find them boring and chemistry free. Probably because the show has spent too many years with the same storylines for them: big issue comes between them, they break up and then they reunite. Maybe it's time for them to break up permanently. I always preferred Bo and Carly anyway.
No actor/actress should be expected to save a show. The additions of CC, LS, and WK have helped to keep the ratings stable like the additions of GG and EM did last year, but when it comes down to it, it is about the storytelling. The story driving the show is the baby switch. I hope that the Bo/Carly/Hope/Vivian story will heat up when the other cools down. Days may be stuck at 2.2, but at least the ratings are stable. Not too many other soaps can make that claim.
ReplyDeleteBillie/Patrick 2.0, is going to be any better than the Baby Switch? Unless there is a massive firing of Dena, Tomlin and the rest of the writers fat chance.
ReplyDeleteBut the return of Carly is about much more than any sort of triangle with Bo and Hope. Vivian is back for revenge. Carly is looking for someone else she is connected to in town. Vivian will undoubtedly get into it with Victor and Kate - so I think it is possible for this to be very fun and interesting.
