11/17 review - The Downfall of Nicole
NICOLE IS TOAST! Kudos to Ali, Ari and James for stand-out performances today!
Sami/EJ/Nicole/Sydney – First of all, before Rafe showed up with Sydney, did Nicole seriously think she was going to clobber Sami to death with that little glass thingy? As is the usual set-up, we got a little hint of what EJole used to be before the couple got all blown up to hell. It was nice to see EJ genuinely concerned for Nicole when she was first having her meltdown. Great EJole revelation scene on the pier, but I feared EJ’s brain short-circuited from one shock too many when he just kept repeating “You switched the babies. You switched the babies. You switched the babies.”
Rafe - I know Rafe was almost killed and he had every right to be pissed at Nicole, but there was something about his taunting attitude that really annoyed me. He did his good deed and got the baby to EJ and Sami. Now I’m just ready for him to shut the hell up and go undercover somewhere far far away!
Vivian/Carly – Another power couple reunited as VARLY(?) reunites! Eagerly awaiting tomorrow’s episode to see their scenes. I’m also wondering what sort of torture Madame has in store for “that murdering guttersnipe”!
Justin/Hope/Bo/Carly – Pretty paint-by-numbers today. So far this developing quadrangle is all angst and no steam. Rather than a love triangle, this is the “friendship” quadrangle. Yawn.
Maggie/Chloe/Mia/Will – I loved it when Will sassed Chloe when she wanted to call Lucas. Like he can do anything when he’s in the Backburner Rehab from Hell anyway. So now Mia will find out that dead Grace was really her baby. And we can all watch Taylor S. prove that once more that she can cry on cue, oh joy.
Ari Zucker deserves the emmy for her performaces. She out did Ali today. I felt her pain and I can say I really don't hate Nicole and I am waiting for her to come back even stronger. Days needs Nicole and Ari to stay in Salem.
ReplyDeleteGo EJ! Man that man can do anger so well. Scares the crap out of me. I thought he was going to blow a casket and steam would start pouring from his head. It still could happen when he learns his Daddy was in on it.
Rafe gets on my nerves. I still didn't see any kind of different emotion from him during this whole thing. I agree Diva he needs to get an assignment far away. I still think he brings Sami down.
Varley is going to be so much fun. I'm sure Vivian has some sinister plan up her sleeve (there was room in that outfit for just about anything LOL) to deal with her.
The quad of Bope, Jope, Barley and Jarley (Hey why not Harly!) needs some excitement I agree. Come on writers which will it be?
Hmm Nadia and Dylan are improving. Still waiting for Taylor......will she ever get better? Isn't she learning anything from Ari and Ali?
I would only add that Sydney was outstanding in her scenes with Sami. She could teach Taylor a thing or two.
ReplyDeleteI think with the Bo/Hope/Carly/Justin story the writers are so afraid of alienating any of the fanbases if they tinker with putting Bo/Carly together there afraid they'll lose the Bo/Hope viewers. I don't see why they make Hope a friend of Carly, have Bo be protective over her but then have Justin be "protective" of Carly to that way they'd set up a possible Carly/Justin pairing but also give a nod to Carly/Bo without making having to write Hope like there doing.

ReplyDeleteAZ plays perfectly a crazy, lunatic, delusional, desperate Nicole. Good acting indeed, she has seriously improved her acting skills.
JS shined also, he has really a strong acting range, it's fascinating to watch.
AS was good with the Sydney little actress but GG is not a good acting partner for her. The guy is sweet, lovely but he can't convey one emotion...it's painful to watch.
Rafe brings Sami down, i agree. I hope this pairing won't last.
LS as Vivian is a divine Cruella Deville (or Gloria Swanson/Norma Desmond on Sunset Blvd)
Will was quite good in his interaction with Chloe, maybe he has finally a backbone and he is really a lumi offspring lol
