The Quick and the Dead

Before I blog about Lost, I just wanted to say something about the comments from readers. First off, I delete any comments mentioning someone's real name. That's not cool, and it's stalkerish. If you have a problem with someone, deal with them on your own time elsewhere. Second, the Diva haters need to give up on this "strategery" of giving me phony advice which is just censorship. The Diva is not worried about being sued by anyone. The Diva is not politically correct, so deal with it. The comments by others are not politically correct either. If you prefer a blog sanitized of anything that is politically incorrect, then go elsewhere. The point of the Diva blog is for me to express myself without erratic moderation by others. If you prefer moderated comments, then go elsewhere.
Back to more important stuff like Lost last night. It was dull and predictable. Didn't we all figure out that Sawyer was whispering about Clementine? Didn't we all know Kate gave Aaron to his grandmother who just happened to be in LA? I'm surprised that Sawyer admitted that he jumped off the helicopter because he didn't want to commit to Kate. That didn't ring true to me. But he has finally matured into a normal relationship with Juliet. The human ping pong Kate is actually man-less for the first time. Was it just me or was Ben's daddy interested in Kate? I'm glad they finally humanized Ben's dad a little.
At first I blamed Jack for Ben going to the Others. But since Juliet, Kate, and Sawyer didn't tell him they were giving Ben to the Others, he's getting a pass from me. It's amazing to see Jack's que sera, sera attitude. He seems to be going from one extreme to the other but is still making mistakes by not acting at all. I don't get how Juliet, Kate, and Sawyer didn't see how they were molding Ben into being Ben by giving him to Richard. Richard took him to the temple. Finally, we'll get to see what that is all about. Did anyone catch all the names Richard rattled off that needed to decide about Ben? All I caught was Widmore.
The Diva really did enjoy the Hurley/Miles debate. I love it when shows put the fans' speculations in an episode. I'm leaning towards the Losties not being able to change the future at all. Or you can say they had a hand on how things ended up in 2003-2004.
Next week looks like it will be the eppy of the year. Ben gets judged. Who doesn't want to see that? I loved watching Ben squirm when he saw undead John Locke watching him. There's two excellent actors who would never get hired on DOOL because of age and looks as we said in our earlier Lost discussion. I love Michael Emerson (Ben.) Ben's a fascinating character, but I still want Locke to shoot him and then strangle him.
Is it just me, or was Ana Lucia in the previews? The Diva can't wait!
Anyway, I hope you guys had a great laugh yesterday. The Diva is back!
The names were "Ellie and Charles." Charles being Charles Widmore, who was on the Island in 54 and Ellie, seems to be Eloise Hawking, who also was there in 54. She of course is Daniel's mother. I am just surprised that they were still on the Island twenty-three years later.
ReplyDeleteJack is still a first class ass.
But then I really do not believe Daniel's theory. I still think that some past can be changed. Or that in the past something happened which was not suppose to happen and the reason they are in the past is to change it to its real course -- like Sam in QUANTUM LEAP.
Roger was acting much better. Though he always resented Ben because he blamed him for killing his wife in childbirth. I think now he sees that Ben is dying too and got a clue. I just find it odd that resurrecting Ben would turn him dark. I would think the Island is good and pure.
I actually liked Kate this episode. She told the truth to Cassie about the Island and Sawyer being alive. She told the truth to Claire's mother and did the right thing by giving her Aaron. She actually probably fulfilled the psychic's advice by giving it to a blood relation he is not being raised "by another."
I was glad that Sawyer tried to save Ben not for Kate but for Juliet.
Tonight Richard did not seem sinister. I am thinking he is a force of good, or a neutral.
And I loved Miles trying to explain things to Hurley, and Hurley pointing out flaws in the theory.
Thanks! I wonder if Charles is Daniel's father? He could be a second generation other. We do know Daniel works on the orchid station.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the island is good and pure. I think it's only looking out for its own preservation. How about what Richard said about Ben being a part of them forever? I wonder if he gets "infected" like what Rousseau said? Maybe that happens to the near dead on the island.
I'm glad Kate found someone to confide in. She knew her destiny was to return to the island, not raise Aaron. Kate's grown. Was it a blood relation or does it have to be Claire? Emilie de Ravin will film next season. I still cried when Kate left Aaron. Funny how Aaron gravitated to a blonde woman at the store, a Claire lookalike. He only knew his real mom for a few months at most.
Yeah, Sawyer does seem truly committed to Juliet.
I never really saw Richard as sinister. We've never really seen him do anything bad. He did advise Locke to have Sawyer kill Locke's dad, but that was about it.
It's funny watching a non-intellect like Hurley outdebate Miles the snob somewhat. lol Jorge Garcia makes so much out of so little dialogue. I'm still laughing about Hurley freaking out when he saw Locke at St. Rosa's.
I thought the way Aaron disappeared seemed supernatural.
ReplyDeleteI realize parents say that one second the kid was there, they turned around and then no kid, but this seemed like he really vanished in thin air. Then the person looks just like Claire? My theory is that the Island seems to be in control even off Island -- all the visions and the times people tried to kill themselves but were stopped, and I think the Island cured Juliet's sister too. So, I think the Island set it up for Kate to be scared and set it up that the woman looked like Claire so that it would get Kate to react and to realize she had to give Aaron back. I think it was two-fold: 1) Aaron has to be with relatives at maybe eventually he will be reunited with Claire; 2) the Island wanted Kate to return and she was not going to do that, without Aaron in her life she had no reason not to return, so forcing her to give up Aaron caused her to return.
You are definitely right that the island controls everyone off the island. Love your Aaron theory. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteDouchebag Royalty is lurkable again. Not that any of you guys want to lurk there anyways. lol I thought they didn't want to give ME more hits by being lurkable? Whatever.
ReplyDeleteKenny's winning in the poll. Go Kenny!
I definitely think Ben's father is interested in Kate.
ReplyDeleteWhile I believe the island is good, I believe its healing properties can enhance latent properties in those it heals. That is possibly why Ben seems to find no shame in poisoning those people, as we found out he did several seasons ago.
My theory is that the plane crash survivors have had a part in what happenes to them in present day through what they did in the past with the time shift.
I find it hilarious that Kenny is tied with Nelson. Go Kenny!

ReplyDeleteSo many douchebags so little time....who to vote for....hmmmmm
Freaky because will Kate become his step-mother? And we never found out what happened between Benry and Kate when they were over on Hydra (the smaller island) when Jack, Kate and Sawyer were being held. Benry takes Kate, and we see them having a meal together, and it looked like he set it up to be like some "romantic" meal. There was a very icky vibe about it; later she looked really shaken when she was taken back to the former polar bear cage she shared with Sawyer. On the net at the time people were wondering if he had raped her or forced her to have sex to save Sawyer.
ReplyDeleteI don't like the DR board that board hasn't been very supportive of S & K so I have stopped lurking there a long time ago and now that I know it is associated with Nelson it is more reason to stay away.
