Now you know how it feels to be me.

Finally! The Diva has been waiting years for Ben to be Locke's bitch. *insert evil laugh here* The island has a wicked sense of humor.

First, you can tell that things have changed relationship-wise from the beginning. Ben was shocked that Locke was alive. I know he said to John's face that he wasn't, but he was. He admitted it to Sun. He said he didn't know the island could bring the dead back to life or whatever type of zombie John we have now. Absolutely unbelievable acting. You can feel John's new power over Ben. You can feel Ben's nervousness about not being the one in the know. You know it before they even talked about it. "Now you know how it feels to be me."

Ben hasn't changed much. He immediately tried to get Caesar to kill Locke. Very appropriate name. Ben aka Brutus kills Caesar in a total cheap shot. I still don't see the point of killing an unarmed man. Ben did it because he could. Et tu Brute?

How hella scary was it when Ben found Sun? The Diva really thought dead Alex would be in her room. Is it just me or did Ben not seem that interested in the Losties being in the Dharma Initiative? Maybe he just now remembered what happened to him in 1977. That's the question. Did Ben know all along what happened in 1977 or does he just learn it now in 2007?

I was disappointed that Lapidus chose to go back to the little island. I really don't care what happens to the other people who were on that plane. I'm starting to think though that Ilana is a mole from Charles Widmore. I'm sure Widmore wanted someone of his to be on that plane. Jeff Fahey is being totally wasted this season.

We didn't get any answers on how the island fixed Ben. He was just in that tent with young, hot Charles. We don't know either how Ben got Charles to leave on the sub. The Diva just assumed that Charles may have moved the island banishing himself.

Widmore is a son of a bitch isn't he? He wanted Alex dead for no reason really. It does seem though like the leader of the Others always pressures newbies into murder. Ben told Locke to kill his dad in order to join the Others. I guess Ben was supposed to kill Danielle Rousseau to prove his worthiness. Ben does kill his own father though. Funny how both Ben and John (via Sawyer) killed their fathers. Both their fathers were quite awful. In an odd coincidence, the Sci Fi Channel yesterday showed the rerun of Sawyer killing Locke's father.

So Ben summons the monster by pulling a stopper out of a drain. Who would have thunk that? I loved how Locke needled him about how the monster was faster the last time. lol I don't remember Locke ever being at the temple. He must now have some innate knowledge of the island. I loved how that scared Ben. Nice of Ben to apologize to Sun for shooting Desmond. It's always good to confess your sins before meeting a monster. I'm assuming that Danielle's people who went down that hole become "infected" because of the monster. Her people tried to kill her while pregnant afterwards. Maybe the island did not want Danielle and Alex alive. Charles got what he wanted 18 years later. He had Danielle and Alex murdered. Ben made a bad bluff and got his daughter killed. I think he assumed the island would protect her because of who he is, but he disowned her as a bluff. Apparently the island does not like being taken for granted.

Under the temple was easily the best part of the episode. I was getting a little antsy for something to happen. Then the monster comes out of the floor. Scary! Of all the awful things Ben has done, the island only judged him on forsaking his daughter? How about all those murders he committed? He just killed someone the day before. I don't believe the island is innately good like what was mentioned in some of the comments here last week. The island is only looking out for itself. I'm thinking that maybe the island gave Alex to Ben as a gift, and he let his gift die. Any theories on why the island was only upset about Alex's murder?

So Alex the ghost comes back to beat up her dad. She didn't seem too impressed with his apology. Alex/the island said that Ben was conspiring to kill Locke again, no brainer there. lol So now the island made Ben, Locke's bitch. How sweet. You are right Ben. Karma is a fickle bitch. I think it's safe to say that if Ben doesn't unwaveringly follow Locke that he's a dead man.

I noticed Sun did not go under the temple. But she was in the room with the smoke monster recently when she and Frank were talking to Christian. Ben seemed a bit shocked when Sun mentioned Christian. I'm assuming that Ben knows who Christian is. He may be shocked that the island/Christian/Jacob/whatever even bothered to talk to Sun.

Looks like next week is the Miles episode. Besides being snarky, Miles has really shown no real purpose. I wonder who the dead dude is that Miles talks to. It looks like Hurley doesn't know the corpse. I have to say, I'd rather watch the "Ben and Locke" show than the Dharma Initiative v 2.0.

  1. My first thought was, that Locke was not only dead, but in fact HAD BEEN dead since his very first encounter with Smokey, back in Season I. He was from Day One a little strange. However, (thinking about it) he seemed to really become obsessed and ASS KICKING after meeting Smokey. He also was always a little like Benry, willing to sacrifice anyone for the sake of the Island. Remember poor Boone, and back last season he was okay with not helping Claire -- Sawyer had to go against him and it was Sawyer who went to save Claire.

I am thinking Miles is Pierre Chang's (aka, Marvin Candle, et al) son.

I noticed Anubis in that hieroglyph, he judge the souls of the deal with a feather, if they weighed more they were damned. When in Egypt we did a tour of a papyrus place, and I bought a cool painting on papyrus of Anubis weighing some pharaoh's with a feather. So, I am thinking Smoky is some version of Anubis.

I wondered what Benry meant by asking Locke to apologize to Desmond. It looked like Desmond beat the crap out of him before he could hurt Penelope, but I worry that we might have been lured into a false sense of security and he still could have done something because of that remark.

I had to laugh that the Risk board with pieces were still on the table. Remember last season Hurley and Sawyer were playing, and Hurley made the comment that Australia was always the clue to the game. Which it is, get control of Australia and you get men and can eventually go through Asia, get more power, and then take over the game. But it also seemed a clue to the fact that much of the stuff occurred in Australia, before the crash, and that Australia will be important.

I am confused why the Island let Alex die. She seemed to be important.

  2. Locke has always protected the island. But he lost his mojo when he blew up the hatch. He was so sure that the hatch was a hoax, he was shocked to find out he was wrong. After that, he was angry and bitter. I don't think John is alive now. I'm not sure what he is. But his whole demeanor has changed. He seemed to have gained knowledge.

Because it's Easter, Jesus is on my mind a lot lately. Maybe John learned a lot when he was dead about the island. John does not seem to know he's dead. It was funny seeing John tell Sun that he's the same guy he was before. You can tell by her eyes that she was totally creeped out. I think it was because she didn't like the old John. lol John doesn't seem to know that. He's always had a higher opinion of himself then others did of him.

You are right about Anubis. I just read a Lost blog that said the same thing. It said, "images of the jackal-headed Egyptian god Anubis, an underworld deity who serves as a shepherd to lost souls and the adjudicator of a truthful heart."

I've played Risk once. I did not catch that comment about Australia. The show did purposefully show the board. I noticed it too.

I didn't see the point of Alex's death either. It was sad to see Danielle find her daughter then die before spending any meaningful time with her.

  3. Opps, I meant to say Anubis judged the heart of the dead with a feather, since they beloved the heart was the abode of the soul.

I had never played Risk until I was in my 20s, and I quickly learned that Australia was always the key to win.

Oh, I love that autographed photo of Michael Emerson, it is so great. And loved what he wrote. He sure does freakie really well. After first appearing on LOST I saw an old episode of one of the L&O shows. All these young African boys were being used as sex slaves, and low and behold one of the perverts was played by ME. The poor guy probably was and will always be typecast in the role of the weirdo. I do not know if you know, but the woman who played Ben's mother is in fact ME's wife -- Freud would love that.

  4. I understood what you meant by the feather.

I thought the autographed pic was frigging hysterical. I saw ME on the X Files. He was on the last season as the guy who could do a mass hallucination of everyone being in the Brady Bunch set.

I had no clue that ME's wife played his mom.

ME was also in Saw. I don't watch scary movies, so I don't know what his role was. Mostly, ME is a stage actor. I've seen interviews of him. He does come off as freaky.

  5. What is with Stefano mourning Tony, he has imprisoned the guy twice, the last time for twenty-plus years. It just shows no one writes character interaction. History means that writers have to write characters reacting a certain way. By ignoring history or character relationships then the writers can do as they please. Why should the writers actually think, when it is far easier just to pull things out of the air.

I just am thankful I watched in the 80s when character interaction matter. When romance ruled the show, and when all forms of relationships were highlighted. Though it is bittersweet because it makes me sad now seeing how far it fell. In the past I had hope of change. That never happened. Now with Dena and Tomlin I know even DAYS' final days will not remember its past.
