Another Days cast rumor confirmed
We can confirm that Christie Clark (Carrie Reed, Days of our Lives) will return to the show. Unfortunately, at this time, we do not know when this will occur. Still, it's a step in the right direction. We want Patrick Muldoon and Matthew Ashford back too!
Cool, like that Carrie can stay the 'heroine' and Sami the 'anti-heroine' of the Brady family, like that all will be alright and as it should be..now i agree the show needs to make amends and bring back vet like Matt Ashford and maybe Pat Muldoon (although his character Austin is so stupid, such a fool..maybe they can bring him back as another character and use his comedic skills or his talent will be more use in better material in prime time..)

DeleteI think Pat would be perfect for a prime time show. With better writing, he would really shine on Days. He was amazing with the Abby stuff. He also was the best mourner with the Safehouse crap, emmy worthy.

DeleteI only ever seem to like Carrie when she's not with any of Kate's sons, so if she returns without Austin, I'll like it. I wasn't a Rafe fan but I found myself really enjoying the "Cafe" romance, even if it was quite rushed. I hope that's why they're bringing her back. I'd love to see where that goes.

DeleteThe story line was so unbelievable. They kissed ince and then they are madly in love and leave their spouses! I wouldnt mind Carrie and Austin coming back but I dont want her with Rafe there was no chemistry!!!. I dont care if Jack comes back his story is always the same thing! He hurts Jenn and they work it out...BORING!!
DeleteBut the problem Micki is that Rafe is boring with everybody at least with Carrie or even Nicole he seems to have some life sometimes, the better would be to drop Rafe and cast a good actor (or the guy who played him before) to play Mike Horton.

ReplyDeletePatrick muldoon is horrible at playing Austin!. He is to old. Muldoon, killed austin reed for me he as messed up a fantastic character. That had so much. Potential. Austin peck would be a much better fit as Austin Reed. He was great on oltl and atwt. And unlike PM is not ashamed of working in daytime. I had a conversation with patrick ten years ago and he told me he hated the character of Austin Reed and he was done with Dool. His acting is horrid so I guess he was speaking the truth.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming Muldoon and Peck are about the same age. Peck was awful on Days, and I heard he was awful on OLTL, and he got fired from ATWT.
DeleteFrom my conversations with Pat, and I interviewed him three times, he loves Austin, Caustin, and Days. He considers the Days cast family. He promotes Days on Showbiz Tonight/Headline News three times already this year. Peck cannot get that kind of press. Muldoon is known for several other acting roles other than Austin, so he has a fanbase that isn't necessarily a soap fan base only. He's a good guy and a professional.
I'm tired of Peck fans bashing Muldoon. You can like both actors, there's nothing wrong with that. There was a time that I did like Peck, but not the last time he was on the show. Bashing Muldoon doesn't mean Peck will ever come back, because Peck burned a lot of bridges with Days when he was fired the last time.
well he had work on prime time at this time..so don't blame him, it is part of the game..anyway he is right about his character..the writing doesn't allow Austin to be otherwise than one-note and still he is not even 'heroic' anymore..Patrick has aged that's right but with better material he can be pretty good unlike some other soap stars..

DeleteIt's not just the writing. Galen Gering (Rafe) is one of the most mediocre actors ever to appear on DOOL. Why the producers/writers seem to love him and continue to give him such a prominent role is truly dumbfounding. He doesn't even have the on-screen charisma to make up for the weak acting. He's qualified to be an aging underwear model and that's about it.

DeleteCarrie and Austin were a much loved and popular couple, and still are to many, but they are not a supercouple. They could never sustain a story on their own without an interloper. They have already twice been booted from the show shortly after achieving happiness, because the writers don't know what to do with them when they're happy. Other couples can manage to still be interesting when they're happy, but Carrie/Austin never did. That said, I like both CC and PM and hope PM is asked back to the show also. MarDar ruined Carrie even more than her last round of cheating, and I have no interest in watching Cafe.

DeleteDisagree TOTALLY; for once Sami these last months seems written quite in character (and Rafe is finally quite out of her orbit, finally !), she is not the 'heroine' anymore, she has flaws and people call her out most of the time about it..and even Will goes as far as quite abusing her actually which can get awful but at the same time make the dynamic complex and more realistic so NO she is not viewed as the good girl and she should not be.

The show didn't even take a minute to give Jack and Jennifer a decent story, and Jack and Jennifer are among Days' most famous and most well loved couples. What a crappy way to treat such a couple and their long time fans, who waited and waited through crappy Dannifer for Jack's return.

ReplyDeleteI hate seeing Carrie & Austin breakup, but even as one the Biggest Carrie & Austin fans ever, It is necessary for Carrie to take time out and take long look at herself in the mirror. She NEEDS to deal with her commitment issues (probably due to her mom Anna leaving her at such an early age). She needs to learn to stand on her own two feet without running to man after man for comfort before she's ready to fully settle down with anyone. Austin needs to get back to his roots. HE needs to go back to his music, teach boxing, get back to the lovable hero that Carrie fell in love with. The weak man who sits around, cries, scrapbooks and just allows another man to punch him and steal his wife is not Austin, at least not PM's Original Recipe Austin.

DeleteI have been watching Days for 31 years - I feel like I grew up the these people..Christie Clark is amazing..acting wise and her looks..time as stood still on her face. Now Patrick Muldoon and Matthew Ashford not so much. I'm tired of the two of them. Jennifer and Jack is played out. They never were a "Bo and Hope." Jennifer and Daniel were great. The newness and they had great chemistry. Jack didnt need to come back. Austin was needed and did a great job sitting up Carrie with a new guy. Now lets see these stories play out. If you need them get rid of them. Now Lexie will be missed terribly. They are misusing Melody so they can just get rid of her too.

Like Jennifer, Carrie is acting just like Jennifer was with Jack like second choice and I am glad Jack is now realizing that he cannot settle for second choice only if it is children. Jennifer and Carrie and Daniel and Rafe all need to go all four are boring and keep Jack and Austin they have family and storyline potential. Jennifer makes me sick to stomach she is such phony and Carrie is the same both deserve those two losers on that show. Jack and Austin are most interesting characters and most popular men on the show with rich history unlike Rafe and Daniel who are both womizners.

ReplyDeleteI think Matthew Ashford deserves better storyline for his character and I am glad that he came back but not for Jennifer and Daniel thing I wish he had his own storyline focusing on his PTSD and everything and he has family in town. Not everything has to be about Jennifer just because she is Horton does not mean she is popular by any measures she needs fall off her pedestal stop playing Miss Perfect all the time start admitting her mistakes. I hope they do not kill Jack off so she can back to Daniel again if she does I hope he cheats on her because Jennifer deserves rude awakening in how she treated Jack like crap. The writers need to know that Jack had dark past and he used to be the editor and chief at the Spectator. I hope Jack goes back to London to be with his son since jennifer cannot be good mother to him i hope Jack jr gives her hell for abandoning him. I am sorry but Jack belongs in Salem as much Jennifer does and her storlyines are boring she needs stop playing innocent victim all the time. Carrie needs to be honest with Austin admit that she loves Rafe not him stop playing games with his emotions. Jennifer and Carrie are ruined big time they both need leave with Daniel and Rafe and Jack and Austin should stay have their storlyine told properly. I am not Jennifer fan anymore her character is major bore.

Jennifer needs to go badly and they need to keep Jack onaboard for change. Jack can stand on his own without Miss Whiney pants Jennifer she is annoying now and the actress has no sex appeal not even the character has no personality whatsover. I am thinking that Matthew Ashford might be headed to General Hospital again as Tom Hardy and he can meet up wit Felicia they were hot together better than Jack and Jennifer now. Jack/Matthew Ashford deserve better than Days of our lives and I do not want Jack to come back rescue jennifer anymore her character is ruin, they either need to kill Jennifer off or have her kidnap or send to mental hospital for evaulation on abandonment issues. Jennifer and Carrie are most boring characters on that show. jack and Austin should stay and let jennifer and carrie leave. Jennifer had her share of men on that show everytime it fails I think it is time to see Jack in other pairings besides Jennifer she can go chase all her losers out of town.

After August 15th I am done with Days of our lives unless they decide to use their brain hire Matthew Ashford back fire Gary Tomlin and Steve Whitsell. We need good writer who knows the history of Days of our lives and characters. ReplyDeleteThey need to recast Jennifer and bring Matthew Ashford back as Jack deveraux because Missy Reeves used to be good as Jennifer Horton but she lost her spunk and her acting is dull and boring either that they need to let Jennifer die for once and let Jack come back for her funeral and his ptsd come back again and he turns back to his dark side or he becomes like EJ real player but I want more mature Jack/Matthew taking care Abby and Jack jr and moving on with his life without Jennifer for once after 20 years devoted to her he deserves women who he love him and accept his flaws too. I think that Jack/Matthew and Nicole or Jack and Billie (Juile Pinson) would be good and if Bo/Peter is not signing his contract then we can have Jack and Hope she is Horton. Sami and Carrie have a complex relationship and they need to explore that i agree if one day they do a character written storyline..but with these writers i doubt it, however they always need to keep some tension and the dynamic Carrie: moral, good girl (with some flaws in order to flesh out the character and not make her one-note) and Sami : ammoral sometimes, flawed who this time accepts it, grey/bad girl with an heart in order to create drama and interesting stories, layered dynamics between sisters who can hurt each others so much but deep down love each others and help each others when it is needed. I would love a story when they saved each others from something but still have a feud..would be complex and interesting imo.

They need to bring Jack/Matthew Ashford back too not just Carrie. I feel bad for Matthew Ashford not able to even have decent storyline for his character because Gary Tomlin does not want write for him or does not like him either but the show should cancel soon in that case. ReplyDeleteyeah why not a story about Marlena/Carrie/Anna..Anna was never a mother to Carrie, Marlena is seen by Carrie as her mother figure, her mother in everything that matter actually..and i even would say more a mother for her than a mother for Sami by far..so a story could be explored about that..but with these new writers i doubt they would even think of something like that..if only they could get rid of Rafe useless bore and bring back Anna..if only..sigh.

ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that Christie Clark will be returning! Would like to see her end up with Rafe. Right now I can't stand Austin. It may be the terrible writing but PM's portrayal of Austin is just annoying - someone needs to shut that guy up, yes, we get that Carrie's pregnant. I've always loved Austin Peck's portrayal of Austin and way better actor than PM.
ReplyDeleteIf I had it my way, I would also like to see the return of Mike Horton and shake up things in Salem. He has a lot of family ties in Salem, and history with Carrie. That would definitely thwart Cafe's relationship...and maybe deliver Carrie's baby. Endless possibilities.
As soon as I hit "send", I will duck for cover but here it is: I watched Days for two decades and then stopped watching for about 10 years before returning, last fall. All I can say is the writing is terrible and the characters are less than one dimensional. Honestly, Days is a perfect example of why the soaps are losing their audiences and are dying off: they just aren't worth the time it takes to watch them, anymore. It won't be long before they're all gone and that's sad for those of us who grew up watching them with our mothers an grandmothers. It's hard to believe "Guiding Light" and "As the World Turns" and that oldie/goodie "Edge of Night" are gone but Days, a flawed, uninteresting, pathetic show, survives.

There other characters that really need to leave the show Carrie is like shallow fickle witch just like Jennifer was with Jack. I really want to see Jack and Carrie return to the show they need to let go of the dead weights who have no storyline potential like Daniel and Jennifer and Billie and Rafe all need to go. Bring back Matthew A. and Christie viewers will come back for sure for these characters. If Jennifer is going continue to be shallow twit again then I do not mind if she leaves when contract expires I hope they do not renew it.
