Comments

  1. Sadly, Dorkday will use it as an excuse not to bring back the vets. When in fact it is the current cast, which was promoted over the returnees, and PTB which turned people off. The whole storyline should have been about the returning actors/characters and Alice's illness and subsequent death, with everyone else sidelined.

They had all these people back, and they were all thrilled to be back and publicly stated they would be happy if it were permanent yet Dork yet again ignored them and the fans' wishes. The rolling and shake you folks in So Cal feel is the repeated turning of the Cordays in their respective graves.

  2. I kind of agree. I would of rather not have had the Daniel/Chloe or Sami/EJ, Kate/Stefano storylines featured at all during Alice's funeral. I think this would of freed up more time for the vets to actually interact with the cast but I guess that wont happen now.

  3. Ok Katie we have to be fair; one couple or one character doesn't make the ratings...and this week in particular shows it..yeah there was too much of Daniel/Chloe/Carly and this story is soo repetitive..it doesn't help but the problem is the storytelling, nothing more..
And to be a little bit more objective..the ratings for the other soaps are also bad.
p.s : this time we can't fault Ej/Sami; they didn't have any scenes together this week.
They maybe should have only focus on the Alice funeral..the Arianna/Nicole/Brady/Ej story and the Danloe story were really not necesary..but even with only the Alice stuff i am not so sure it would have bring the ratings..the pace is too slow, lot's of scenes were boring..ect..
Storytelling euh i mean GOOD storytelling, good dialogue and dynamic interactions between lot's of different characters are the key.

  4. Alice's faux funeral was badly done so what else can be expected.

  5. Unfortunately Corday will see this as a reason not to bring back the vets, and as a sign to continue with the status quo. He will then spew BS about how if the fans want the vets they will have the novels. I know the novels will be great Sheri is writing them, but I would like to have the actors employed on my TV screen -- Matt, Missy, Stephen, Mary Beth, Thaao and Leann -- their characters written by someone with talent -- cough, Sheri, cough.

  8. I think it's a case of too little, too late. After years of dumping the veteran actors, there probably weren't too many people interested in checking in to see a few (very few) flashbacks. The show gave up on the Hortons long ago -- and viewers gave up on DOOL just the same. Admittedly, it's a bit better than it used to be, but when you see the screen time they give Nicole Walker -- you just have to wonder why.
