  1. Love Days, but the ratings have been in the toilet for a while now. I'm thinking getting rid of Dena Higley was not a wise move at all. Ms. Higley revived Days and the show was enjoying solid ratings until the whole Robo-Rafe storyline. Too, why would Days opt to hire scribes who formerly penned Passions, which fizzled and failed and never really held onto Another World's audience? I love Days regardless but the change in the writing is very apparent; the new team's writing is too simplistic and devoid of suspense. I say bring back Ms. Higley before it's too late.

  3. The new writers are boring but Higley was a damn trainwreck.

  4. It really is just plain math: the ratings were much higher during Higley's tenure as writer. Days' ratings this time last year were higher; that's a fact. And when Higley took over in 2008, the show remained in 3rd place until the RoboRafe storyline. A lot of older fans pissed and moaned about the characters, Marlena and John, being written off the canvas. However, Days' ratings did not suffer at all without those characters. Now with all of these old characters back and a new writing team in place Days is doing as bad as it did in 2006 and part of 2007 prior to Higley's tenure. I totally disagree with many posters on these blogs; it is quite clear that Days was doing well in the ratings for most of Ms. Higley's reign as headwriter.

  5. I agree, Dena Higley was doing a great job. Ever since the put all of the elderly charcters on the front burner the show has tanked.

  7. Ummmm... The two lengthy posts regarding Ms. Higley are not her posts unless Dena has a 10" cock and is gay...I would hate for anyone including her to take credit for my posts.

Yeah, I'm in the minority...I liked the writing before the re-boot and the ratings now are scary miserable.

I hope Days just hangs on; it's literally only one of three shows I still watch on network TV because most of what's on NBC, CBS and ABC is unwatchable. What would we watch without Showtime & HBO?

  8. Just checked Soaps.com & Days is still in last place. What the hell is going on?

Just from a purely logical perspective, Days' rating, with the characters Marlena & John, were slipping in 2006. Then, Hogan Scheffer and crew were brought in as the new writing team and the characters, Marlena and John were written off the canvas due to budgetary constraints. At the time Days climbed to #3 in the ratings. This catapult in the ratings was heralded as a Renaissance for Days and its ratings remained constant during Sheffer's and then Higley's tenures but for Higley's Robo-Rafe debacle and writing Nathan Horton off the canvas.

How is it a proper response to bring back a slew of veteran actors without first vetting a competent writing team and a cohesive storyline? And more significantly, Why re-set the show back to 2006? It's insane and illogical.
