Sheri Anderson interview ready for playback

ShareWe just love talking to Sheri. Poor woman, we talked to her for 94 minutes! lol Sheri is so fascinating. We talked about everything from her new book, to the soap's writing process, her favorite story lines and characters, etc. Overall, it's just so interesting to listen to such a creative person who gave us such wonderful moments and characters from Days of Our Lives. We wish Sheri and her books nothing but success. Sheri mentions some upcoming public events if you would like to meet her. Also, her books will be available in all the major bookstores on November 9th. To hear her for yourself, you can push play on the blog's home page, or you can listen to the show here.

“Did you know I have a Title? … Yeah, Old Bat.” / “Broke and alone, cookie!”

Vivian and Nicole chat… and Vivian tells Nicole that she believes that Nicole is going to end up alone and broke. Vivian tells Nicole that she’ll be able to change that. Vivian tells Nicole that if she lets her out, that she’ll leave her title and the oil fields that go with it to her. Nicole tells Vivian that she doesn’t believe that Vivian would do anything BUT run to the police to rat out Nicole and Brady.

Vivian ponders about her future now that Nicole has turned down her offer and hopes for someone kind and compassionate to come along… Vivian prays and make a deal that she’ll do what she needs to so long as SOMEONE comes along to save her. She turns on the monitor to find Kate wandering around her bedroom.

… and how fortuitous! Kate shows up at the Mansion, although Henderson won’t let her in. Much to Kate’s surprise, Nicole is at the house… and even bigger surprise is that Nicole now lives there! Kate and Nicole share jabs back and forth about Victor, Brady and the rest of the Kiriakis clan. Kate starts to wonder what exactly is going on… seeing as how Brady says that Vivian has been the focus of his life, Nicole is living at the mansion and Victor is ok with it… meanwhile, Vivian is gone and there is no way that they could have gotten Vivian out of the house unless they used a crow bar. Kate wanders around Vivian’s bedroom. Kate finds the earpiece… and turns on the monitor… and is shocked to see Vivian (who all along has been calling Kate nasty names while trying to direct her to the monitor!) Vivian tells Kate that she’s stuck in Isabella’s sarcophagus. Kate tells Vivian that she’s impressed with Brady. Vivian tells Kate that she can get revenge on both Nicole and Victor by just letting her out.

Brady says his good bye to Arianna and he confesses to her that he’s been too busy for her because he’s been busy torturing an “old woman”. He’s been focused on nothing but Vivian for the past few weeks. Arianna wakes and squeezes Brady’s hand. Brady leaves Isabella’s rosary with Arianna and tells her that his mother will look after Ari. Gabi arrives and Brady tells her that Arianna woke up for a bit, but has since drifted off again. Gabi regrets not telling Ari that she loved her and Brady suggests that she take the time to do it now. Brady tells Nicole about Arianna’s condition. Nicole tells him that she’s ok with him staying at the hospital. Brady declined since she has family there. Nicole tells Brady that although she and Arianna didn’t get along, she wouldn’t have wished this on her.

NuGabi runs off. And Will starts to follow her, but Sami tells him to let her go. Sami tells Will that they will talk to Arianna and make things right. Will tell her that Ari is dying. Sami is shocked and argues with Will that she doesn’t believe him. She finally realizes that he is telling the truth. The two rush off to be with Rafe at the hospital.

EJ confronts Rafe about what it was that she so desperately had to tell EJ. Rafe threatens to knock him in the face. The two ramble on about Sami and what a terrible mother she is and how all Arianna was doing was trying to save Rafe from a life with Sami. Rafe asks EJ to leave him be so that he can spend time with his sister… and EJ reminds Rafe who is to blame for his sister’s death – just as Sami walks through the door. Sami tells EJ that he’s just being cruel and stupid for all his scheming at this point and how EJ knows that if it were Lexie laying in that hospital bed that Rafe would more than certainly back off. Really Sami?! After he tortured EJ while he was unconscious and even joked about giving EJ a stroke?! Sami apologizes to Rafe (who comforts her?!) for not being with him at the hospital.

A Code Blue (which in hospital speak is a BIG PROBLEM) is called for Arianna’s room. Rafe rushes out of the waiting room and waits with the rest of Ari’s family and friends wait outside. Lexie attempts to save Arianna… with little help from Melanie, who tells Ari that she can’t die because they are supposed to go shoe shopping together. Lexie manages to save Ari, but who knows for how long. Gabi tells Rafe that she knows that she knows the real reason why this happened. Gabi and Rafe argue about the accident and that she knows that Ari was fighting with Will before it happened. Sami walks in to see if they need anything and Rafe tells her that he wants her with him, much to Gabi’s annoyance. Momma Hernandez calls and Rafe and Gabi leave the room to talk to her. Arianna picks that moment to wake up and is not happy to see Sami her bedside. She manages to squeak out to Sami that she won’t get away with what she did to EJ before she loses the battle to her injuries. Rafe and Gabi say their final goodbyes.

Kate and Melanie chat about the fact that Melanie and Phillip are moving into Victor’s. Kate spills the beans to Melanie about Arianna’s condition. Melanie tries to comfort Brady.

Will tells Lexie about how guilty he feels about Arianna’s accident. Lexie tries to comfort Will. Will asks Lexie if she can try and send EJ home. Lexie asks EJ is he really needs to be at the hospital… and of course he does because she might just wake up and tell him what he needs to know in order for him to keep his children. Lexie asks him to have some compassion. EJ tells Will that he’s been watching him… and that he knows that Will wasn’t the one who shot him. EJ tells Will that he knows that it was Sami that shot him. Lexie walks in and tells EJ that he needs to leave. EJ tells Will that he will make sure that Arianna doesn’t die in vain.

“May you can get romantic when there’s a live women in a coffin a few feet away, but me… I find it a little hard to concentrate.”

Maggie and Victor talk about his regrets over Isabella while Vivian looks on from the comfy coffin. Much to Vivian’s annoyance and disappointment, Maggie comforts Victor. Maggie asks Victor if Vivian was part of the reason why he told Maggie to walk away and not come back. Victor explains that he’s taking care of a situation his way… not the Maggie Horton way. Maggie asks Victor if he married Vivian to “take one for the team”… guess it all depends on how you look at it. Brady interrupts Victor and Maggie’s chat.

Brady apologizes for walking in on Maggie and Victor. Victor admits that having Vivian in the coffin is a bit distracting. Brady wonders if Victor is starting to have second thoughts. Brady tells Victor that he feels the need to tell him that he should go ahead and let Vivian out. Victor tells Brady that the only thing left to do is keep Vivian in the box because if they let her out, she’ll return to acting as Victor’s wife or tell everyone about what Victor and Brady have done. Either way, he’ll end up losing Maggie. Vivian commends Victor for trying to send Maggie away. Victor tells Vivian that she didn’t leave… and that he plans to try and continue things. He wanders off with a nonchalant, “Good night Mrs. Kiriakis, where ever you are… “ Vivian entertains herself by singing “99 Bottles of Beer” on the wall.

EJ calls Brady about Ari and tell him about her accident. He tells Brady that he needs to rush down to the hospital in order to have time to say goodbye to her. Brady arrives find out that EJ wasn’t lying and tells Rafe that he found out about Ari’s accident from EJ. Brady asks for some time with Ari, so Rafe leaves. Brady reminds Ari about all the plans and dreams they had and that he never understood what happened, but he always assumed that he’d have Ari in his life somehow.

Stefano and Kate talk about Ari’s accident and are interrupted by a visit from Chad. Chad asks if he’s come at a bad time and as Kate explains that they’ve recently got bad news, Stefano tells her to go ahead and let him in. Chad explains how he was wrong to run off after he was offered a job at DiMera Enterprises. Stefano explains that he likes the fact that Chad wants to make it on his own and how he was once like that. Hmmm… foreshadowing, much? Chad goes to leave…and Kate stops him. Chad and Kate have an interesting conversation about how she was simply trying to help him since he’s essentially lost both his mother and his father. Chad storms off. Kate has a conversation with Madeline… and decides that she is no longer going to keep her secret. Wonder how Stefano will react to the news that he has yet ANOTHER son? Kate makes arrangements for Chad to get a copy of the birth certificate.

Will rummages through Ari’s purse in search of the camera she used to tape Sami’s confession. NuGabi catches him and he quickly makes up a story about how he knocked it off the table. (Like mother, like son, eh?) NuGabi and Will talk about Ari and Will reminds her that the doctors at University Hospital are the best… really?! Rafe interrupts their discussion and asks her to rush to the hospital. Will comforts her... and Gabi seems to be only concerned with how her makeup looks. Really?! Will calls Sami to let her know that he has not yet found the camera and that she needs to call Rafe as soon as she gets the message.

Will heads to the hospital to see Rafe and Ari and tells Rafe that he feels as though her accident was all his fault.

Rafe learns that Ari’s lungs are too damaged from the accident for her to survive. Rafe goes in to see her and tells her the story about how she found a sick cat when she was a kid. He reminds her how he told her that the cat will never make it and how she responded about how she asked God for a miracle for the cat to survive… and he did. So, now Rafe is asking Ari to ask God for another miracle so that she’ll survive her injuries. Rafe calls Father Matt to visit with Ari and give her Last Rites and admits that he has not even told their mother or NuGabi how bad things really are. (I personally would think that both would have been holding vigil by her bed side!) Rafe apologizes to Ari for getting caught up in Sami (again!) and that he knows that big brothers are supposed to watch out for their little sisters… and he didn’t do that. It’s kinda hard to do when you’re stuck in some South American prison, isn’t it? Father Matt (who has taken time away from counseling Chloe about her personal problems) administers Last Rites while Rafe and NuGabi look on. Is it me, or shouldn’t the two of them have been showing a bit more emotion during this? I just wasn’t feeling the heart wrenching that one should feel during someone’s death scenes. Gabi rushes out the room… and Rafe sends Will after her. Will finds Gabi at the pier (is it really that close to the hospital?!) and he admits to Gabi that he and Ari had a fight… and that she ran into the street in order to get away from him and the fight they were having.

EJ is just as devastated as Rafe is about Ari… but only because she’ll never be able to tell him what she knows. EJ asks the nurse if he could have Ari’s phone so that he could begin to call some of her friends… and the nurse realizes that the purse (which would likely contain the phone) is gone. EJ receives a visit from Stefano at the hospital while he is holding vigil outside of Ari’s room. EJ explains Ari’s situation as well as the fact that Ari wanted to talk to him because she knew who shot him. EJ tells Stefano that he considered Ari a friend, which in his privileged life; he’s always been short on. Stefano and EJ wonder where the item is that Ari wanted to show him. They both look to Will as the potential reason why Ari’s purse is now missing. EJ vows to Stefano that he will find out what it was that Ari knew that could help him get his children back.

Laura Sinnema interview ready for download

Thanks so much to Laura Sinnema for her insight on being a stage mom.  Laura is a very sweet person.  You can listen to the show here on our home page, or you can listen from our blogtalkradio show page.  Laura discussed how the girls got discovered, how they auditioned for Days of Our Lives, some cute backstage stories, and also how and why they were let go. Laura had stories for us about James Scott, Leann Hunley, Arianne Zucker, Joe Mascolo, Molly Burnett, and Casey Deidrick.  We wish Laura and her daughters, Lauren and Hailey, and their big sister, Hannah, all the best.

A Martinez to appear on Castle

I just adore A Martinez.  He would be perfect for The Bay don't you think?  Anyway, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that A will be on "Castle" on Monday October 18th.

Most brilliant thing I've read online in a long time

I hope TPTB read this thread.  Great job by the writer of this post.  This person summed up exactly what the old school fans of Days of Our Lives miss with our show.

What I Miss Most About DOOL

I miss:

People falling in love with no distraction. Taking their time. Discovering each other.

Family talks between people who really care. The kind that ends in a hug.

Those big dances and events. When everyone got dressed up and came together. The 4th of July Picnic. The Titan bashes. Those times when fans got to see people who don't usually interact get together.

Aww moments. A baby born surrounded by happy people. A wedding that everyone wants to happen.

Supercouples. People who took their time coming together but once they did, stuck together.

Couples that bring out the best in each other.

The fun couples. They had a way of bringing a little lightness and fun even in the darkest storyline. They made you smile even laugh when the rest of the show made you spitting angry or cry.

Good, wholesome families. The father and mother everyone wishes they had. The protective but loving brother. The stubborn but loyal sister.

I feel that none of DOOL's current main stories feature these elements. I miss watching them.
