FancyFace Picks 2/22 to 2/26

WINNER OF THE WEEK: Daniel. Oh, I know I’m going to get hate mail this week, but it’s nice to see Daniel in a storyline that doesn’t involve groping his patients or schtupping another man’s fiancĂ©e. Maybe with this character spun in the new direction of long lost unknowing father, he can redeem himself a bit. He’s still an idiot for not even considering the possibility that he could have been the dad after he had done the nasty with Carly at a medical conference however.

LOSER OF THE WEEK: Melanie. I can’t entirely blame this on the character, because the actress or the director or someone else has to take responsibility for all of the wine glass cracking screaming that went on this week. Molly’s voice is just too high for that screeching…and it made me feel like my eardrums were going to start bleeding. Someone, for the love of God, tell her to stop!!!

PERFORMER OF THE WEEK: This week, despite all of the inevitable controversy from both sides of the fence, I have to give it to Crystal Chappell. I thought both of her confessions to Melanie and Daniel were strong scenes; and anyone who can hold her own against the screeching of Molly Burnett deserves props.

SCENE OF THE WEEK: Call me a masochist, but the cruelty of this Carly/Bo/Hope triangle keeps me entertained because it’s just so intense to watch. When Bo admitted to Hope that he loved Carly (something which if I recall correctly, he never even said to Carly), it was devastating to see Hope’s reaction, Carly’s awkward surprise and Bo’s misery. A well-done scene by all three.

ZINGER OF THE WEEK: Victor to Vivian regarding her failed plot to get revenge on Carly - “The Three Stooges on crack could have come up with a better plan!”

REWRITING MISTAKE OF THE WEEK: Carly to Bo – “Why did I ever get involved with the Alamains?” The history, as usual, is all there on YouTube. Carly had an arranged marriage to Lawrence. The decision was made for her by her family; and the Alamains never completely got out of her life, even when she escaped them and moved to Salem in the 90s. She never got involved with them; they were forced on her. Lazy ignorant writing.

RANDOM THOUGHT OF THE WEEK #1: Was Sami’s only black dress appropriate for a funeral the one that she married EJ in a few weeks ago?

RANDOM THOUGHT OF THE WEEK #2: Which couple is now the most irredeemably fucked up? EJAMI or BOPE?

Ok.  First, the actors decide which category to put themselves in.  So if you feel someone is in the wrong category, blame the actor!  lol

Lead Actor:
James Scott-No surprise there, good for him.
John Aniston-Wrong category, love John though.  I'm dying to know what he submitted. I'm not a big fan of Peter Reckell's acting, but he should have had this spot.

Lead Actress:
Kristian Alfonso-The pre-nom should have went to Arianne Zucker, but Ari put herself in supporting.  Kristian is definitely a lead, but Alison and Arianne had the better material this year.
Alison Sweeney-good choice.

Supporting Actor:
Shawn Christian-um......NO!  John Aniston should have been in this spot instead of lead.
Joseph Mascolo-Joe is still THE MAN.

Supporting Actress:
Nadia Bjorlin-Is this a joke?  Seriously?  Louise Sorel should have had this one, that would have been a no-brainer.
Arianne Zucker-Excellent acting this year, wrong category.  Seriously Ari, grow some balls and put yourself in lead next year.  I would have given it to Lauren Koslow for the State wedding.  Honorable mention to Suzanne Rogers.

Younger Actress:
Molly Burnett-No brainer pick.
Shelley Hennig-She's ok.  Didn't have any real material this year.  At least it wasn't Taylor Spreitler.

Younger Actor:
Casey Deidrick-He's the best actor in that age group.  He did well learning that Grace was his daughter.
Dylan Patton-He's the default pick.  I don't anyone else could have gotten the nom in this category.  Not a good actor, which of course means he'll win like Darin Brooks did last year.  lol

What's your thoughts?

Congrats to the former DOOL actors on their nominations too.

The Diva Spy Network and I will discuss our picks for the pre-noms tomorrow during our blogtalkradio show tomorrow at 11 pm est.

The Lighthouse

This episode of Lost was a huge let down after last week.

This eppy was about sideways Jack with a bit of Claire.  Sideways Jack has a ten year old son with an unknown mother.  Their relationship is strained.  Jack helps his mom find Jack's father's will.  The will mentions Claire.  Jack's son, David, tries out for a conservatory behind Jack's back.  David and his mother hid David's piano playing behind Jack's back because Jack got obsessed with it in the past.  While Christian was obsessed with Jack being a brilliant surgeon, looks like Jack put that same pressure on his son's piano playing.  Jack earlier complained to his mother that his son doesn't talk to him.  His mother said that Jack didn't talk to his father at that age either.  Jack said it was because he was afraid of his father.  His mother suggests that David may be afraid of Jack.  Not much to mention in the sideways Jack.  Jack runs into Dogen at the conservatory.  He has a son trying out too.  Jack and David grow closer afte the audition.

Hurley and Miles were playing tic tac toe to numerous ties in the beginning of the eppy.  I don't think that was a throwaway mention. I still think this whole big secret is a game between nuLocke and Jacob.  And it always ends in a tie.  Everyone is staring at Sayid.  Sayid asks Jack why.  Jack tells him that The Others think Sayid is infected and that Dogen wanted Sayid dead.  They cut the scene before Jack tells Sayid that he may be infected like Claire.  At the Temple, Jack confesses that Sawyer, Kate, and Jin will not be returning to Dogen.  Dogen confesses that he can't make Jack stay.  Jack doesn't believe him.  Hurley sees Jacob near the water.  I believe the water is now clear.  Jacob tells Hurley to write down instructions.  Hurley tries to follow the directions without Jack and gets caught by Dogen near a secret passageway.  Jacob tells Hurley to go get Jack.  Dogen does not appear to hear or see Jacob.  Jacob tells Hurley to tell Dogen that he's a candidate and can do what he wants.  Very cute scene.  Dogen leaves Hurley alone.  Hurley talks to Jack and gets him to come.

Jack and Hurley find Kate.  Hurley tells Jack that Kate can't come with them, she's not invited.  Jack wants her to come.  Kate decides to find Claire instead.  Along the way to their destination, Hurley and Jack find Shannon's missing inhaler from season one.  They come across the caves from season one with the two skeletons in it.  Hurley says that maybe they time traveled and that the skeletons were their own bodies.  I think it might be Jacob and the Man in Black, but that's just a guess.  Some people think it's Bernard and Rose.  Jack sees his father's busted up coffin.  Jack confesses to Hurley that he found the caves chasing after his father's ghost.  He also confesses that he busted up the coffin because it was empty.

Finally, they arrive at the lighthouse.  Hurley's writing on his arm is smudged, but he makes out the number 108 for him to move the mirrors to.  Jack notices the names and numbers of the other candidates on the dial.  He moves the mirror to his name and sees his house.  Jack knows that Jacob has been watching them via the lighthouse.  He destroys the mirrors.  Jacob wanted them to use the lighthouse to help someone get there.  Hurley talks to Jacob after the smashing of the mirrors.  Jack is on a cliff looking out at the ocean.  Hurley apologizes for the mirrors being busted.  Jacob said that the person will just have to find another way to get there.  I'm thinking the person might be Desmond, but that's a guess.  I'm assuming Dez is a candidate too.  Jacob seems happy that Jack might be figuring things out for himself while Hurley does whatever Jacob tells him to do without question.

Claire frees Jin from the trap.  Jin passes out from the wound.  She takes him and then injured Justin The Other to her camp.  When Claire leaves to sharpen her axe, Justin tells Jin that Claire has been killing them off. He wants Jin to untie him.  Claire stitches up Jin's leg and says it's easier to not have to sew yourself up like she did.  She asks Justin where Aaron is.  Justin says they don't have Aaron, never did.  Jin tells her Kate has Aaron, and has had him for 3 years.  Justin asks to be let go.  Claire puts in axe in his stomach killing him.  Claire is not happy with Aaron being raised by Kate.  Jin said he was lying to try to spare Justin's life.  Claire threatens to kill Kate if she really did have Aaron.  She said that Dogen and the Others stuck needles in her and branded her arm.  Claire mentions her "friend."  NuLocke shows up.  Jin calls him "John" with a stunned look on his face.  Claire said, "he's not John, he's my friend."  Right before this scene, Jacob tells Hurley that someone is coming to the Temple to basically wipe them all out, and it's too late for Hurley to save anyone.  So basically, Jacob lured Jack and Hurley from the Temple to save them.  I didn't see Sawyer with nuLocke.  The only Losties left at the Temple are Miles and Sayid.

So I'm assuming next week is the showdown at the Temple.  I'm not sure what to make of this episode.  I guess sideways Jack breaks the family tradition of bad fatherhood.  I'm curious on who David's mother is.  It could be his ex-wife's son.  I'm disappointed that Claire does seem to be infected.

Ok, what did I miss?  Tell me.

"We don't need another hero."

Sing it, Miss Tina!
Another blah episode.  *snooze*

Rafe/EJ/Sami.  Rafe shows up at Sami's place.  EJ's already there alone.  Rafe in his usual super annoying way, gives  EJ the third degree.  Seriously, what gives Rafe the authority to interrogate everyone at any time about everything?  Sami shows up.  She freaks out immediately thinking that Sydney's body  has been found.  Rafe vows to track down the Sydnapper.  Sami gets upset, and wants to mourn, not to continue investigating.  EJ is there to give a phony sympathetic ear for her.  Sami kicks Rafe out AGAIN.  Later we see Rafe crying while looking at Sydney's pictures.

Maybe it's just this Diva, but man, I was hoping for EJ to pull an Incredible Hulk and rip that suit jacket to shreds with his bulging muscles.  I really didn't pay much attention to the dialogue in these scenes due to my lusting.  Sorry!  lol

Bo/Vivian/deadLawrence.  Viv is there to testify against Carly at her bail hearing.  Bo is at his shit eating grin best with her.  The Diva wishes someone would just smack that look off his face.  Bo tells her Carly already made bail.  Bo makes the comment on how Carly's not a flight risk.  HUH?  Didn't she just stab her husband last fall and flee the country?  Considering this is Carly's second attempted murder in a year, you'd think there would be no way she would ever be granted bail.  Anyway, Bo leaves.  Vivian hallucinates GhostLawrence who tells her to kill Melanie again.  Considering Vivian is rubbing her temples right before he mysteriously disappears, I'm assuming that Vivian has a brain tumor "out" for her actions.  That's fine for me, as long as Louise Sorel stays on the show forever.

Philip/Daniel/Carly/Chloe.  Daniel won't let Phil in Mel's hospital room since Carly is there.  Carly confesses to being Melanie's mom.  Melanie once again freaks out and starts screaming.  Daniel and Philip rush in.  Carly leaves Melanie alone.  Philip and Melanie share a tender moment.  Melanie does not believe Carly's confession.  Philip tells her it's true.

Chloe witnesses Daniel, Carly, and Phil in the reception area of the hospital.  Chloe and Dan go to the Pub.  Chloe tells Daniel she doesn't need therapy just him.  Chloe is suspicious of Carly and warns Daniel about her.  Chloe's not happy that Daniel risked his job for Carly.  I haven't liked Chloe since she was "ghoul girl."  But man, she hit the nail on the head today!  She tells Daniel that Carly ruined Bo's life, and she doesn't want Carly ruining Daniel's.  The Diva was never excited about the future Carly/Daniel/Chloe triangle.  Mostly because I don't particularly care for any of the characters involved, but it might end up being interesting.  We'll see.

Mia/Gaby/Chad.  Nothing to report there.  I'm not wasting my time.

Anna/Sydney/EJ.  Anna tells Sydney she's not happy with EJ's plan to leave the country with Syd and Johnny.  Not much going on with these scenes, but Anna and Sydney looked super cute today.  EJ arrives to inspect the passports.

Zingers of the day:
"I'm a doctor, not a marksman."  Carly to Melanie
"We don't need another hero."  I think that was EJ to Rafe, thus my Thunderdome reference.  Speaking of Thunderdome, why not have EJ and Rafe fight it out in Thunderdome?  Now that would be hot!

Performer of the day:  Easily James Scott.  He was perfect as the phony grieving father feeling fake sympathy to his baby's momma.  Bravo!

Stuart Damon spoilers!

ShareStuart Damon Hits Days of Our Lives
by Michael Logan February 23, 2010 10:32 AM EST

Mark Sanford and Eliot Spitzer have nothing on Days of Our Lives’ Governor Jim Ford. The philandering politico—played by former General Hospital great Stuart Damon—will arrive on the soap March 19 to attend a swanky fundraiser in Salem. But before Ford splits town, he’ll spring snarky sexpot Nicole DiMera (Arianne Zucker) out of jail, where she’s currently serving a 20-year sentence for babynapping. Damon gave TV Guide Magazine all the dirt!

You were terrific as that greasy, cheesy mobster Ralph Manzo on As the World Turns. And now comes this shady Days gig. Not that your GH character, Dr. Alan Quartermaine, didn’t do some rotten stuff over the years, but this is a whole new career direction for you. And it’s tickling us pink!
I had such a blast on ATWT and this Days thing is really good, too. And really classy. This guy I play is ripped from the headlines—one of those politicians who can’t keep his fly zipped. He’s got a lot of secrets. The wardrobe was gorgeous—designer suits, swanky cufflinks, beautiful ties. Definitely more upscale than Ralph!

So how does Ford get mixed up with Nicole?
He grants her a full pardon because he’s being blackmailed by his old flame Anna DiMera [Leann Hunley]. He runs into Anna at the Kiriakis house. She asks Ford to help give this woman a pardon but, when he finds out who it is, he says “You’re out of your mind!” The guy’s got a real edge and there’s very little that’s beneath him, but even he chokes on the idea of pardoning Nicole. He’s desperately afraid she’ll be a menace to society, which could come back to destroy him. But he’s got no choice. Anna has him by the throat.

Sounds juicy. And then?
Then EJ [James Scott] finds out Ford’s been in cahoots with Anna and he is not pleased. However the governor only takes so much from EJ—because EJ is a menace to society as well—so it’s pretty confrontational. They’re both strong characters who’ll go as far as they need to go, and that makes for some good drama.

How long is your run?
Five episodes, and nothing would give me more pleasure than to come back and get some hell for letting Nicole loose. You know, when they asked me to do the part they hadn’t written anything yet. They said, “If you agree to do it, we’ll write the part for you.” And it’s my kind of part, my kind of dialogue. There’s romance and toughness and softness. It’s a very well-rounded, well-constructed role. The writers did me proud. And [Days exec producer] Gary Tomlin treated me so well. I got no complaints.

So it’s better to be bad, yes?
[Laughs] I think so! My ATWT character would kill you as soon as look at you. These character roles are so much more fun. But, I’ll tell ya, the schedule is now a mindblower. It’s only been 18 months since I finished up on GH but since then soaps have gone crazy. They’re shooting eight episodes a week at Days now. The speed is really scary. But give me a part and I can still rip through it!

You’ve come a long way from your big TV break in 1965—playing Prince Charming opposite Lesley Ann Warren in Cinderella. People are still nuts for that special.
You wouldn’t believe the prices the DVD gets on the internet! Yeah, I’m proud to say I’ve lasted pretty well in this business. I can’t fit into those tights anymore but, hey, I’m still here!

BTW, this is our 500th post!

Michael Emerson interview with Jimmy Kimmel

Michael says that Sideways Ben being a teacher isn't a throw away.  The cast last week had 4 episodes left to film.  Link.

"Here Comes the Gestapo."

After shooting her didn't kill her, Carly tries smashing her head in with her bare hands!
Monday's eppy was ok again.  Just like I thought, the Philip/Vivian stuff was the best.

Brady/Ariana/Rafe  Not much going on there.  They are at the Pub, EJ calls and asks to see Brady at the Pier.  Brady leaves.  Rafe enters yelling at his cell phone.  Rafe's clearly frustrated at his lack of progress of finding Sydney.

EJ/Anna/Sydney.  Anna calls EJ while he's at the Pier.  She's mad at his cruelty towards Sami (and others) by faking Sydney's death.  Cute little Sydney sits in her Aunt Anna's lap.  This Diva is suffering from serious Sydney withdrawal.  We need more Sydney!  EJ tells Brady that Syd is dead, and wants him to tell Nicole.  Arianna shows up to stick up for her brother when EJ says that Rafe is responsible for Sydney's death.

Victor/Dan/Bo/Abe.  Victor briefly talks to Dan on the phone about Melanie's condition at the Salem PD.  He hangs up to talk to GestaBo.  Bo threatens Victor with charges.  Victor doesn't buy it.  Bo has nothing.  Victor stopped a murder for Pete's sake, since when is that a crime?  Bo's in full hypocrite mode once again.  We all know he'll go crawling back to Victor for favors like he always does.  My bet, he'll beg Victor for money since Carly is about to bankrupt him by getting caught visiting Melanie breaking the restrictions of her bond.  Victor leaves triumphantly.  Abe comes in for no apparent reason.  Bo admits he was bluffing with Victor.  Considering Bo has been trying off and on for 24 years to get Victor behind bars, you'd think he would be smart enough to realize bluffing doesn't work with Victor.  Victor comes home to the KiMansion and announces that Melanie is awake according to his phone call with Dr. Dan.  DumBo realizes that Carly probably went to the hospital.

Philip/Vivian. Phil threatens Viv with a fireplace poker.  Viv plays innocent.  Great stuff.  Phil decides to spare her life.  Philip declares Melanie the love of his life.  I guess he was just pretending with Chloe, Belle, Morgan, and Stephanie.  Victor threatens Vivian with prison if she messes with Melanie again.

Carly/Melanie.  Mel wakes up.  When she remembers being shot, Mel starts freaking out.  Mel's mad that Dan let Carly into her room.  No shit on that one.  There's plenty of time for Carly to explain their blood ties after the poor girl recovers.  Lucky for Melanie, she doesn't die from shock.  Carly leaves her room.  Again, no one recognizes the attempted murderer in the middle of a hospital.  Dan talks Melanie into letting Carly come back to the room.  Carly confesses that she's Mel's mum.

It was an ok eppy.  Excellent acting by Jay Kenneth Johnson as the furious groom.  Louise Sorel was amazing once again.  She genuinely seemed afraid of Philip while refusing to confess to trying to kill Melanie.  John Aniston does the intimidation thing so well.  He's the cranky old man you know that you would never dare to mess with. This Diva also really enjoyed Molly Burnett today.  She totally stole the scene from Crystal Chappell.  She played a wide range of emotions from confusion, scared, to curiosity without being over the top.  Molly has improved so much over last year.

FancyFace Picks 2/15 to 2/19

WINNER OF THE WEEK:  DAYS went to #2 in the ratings out of all the soaps.  No originality or excitement required.  Yes, apparently B&B must really be that bad.

LOSER OF THE WEEK:  EJ Dimera.  Thanks, EJ, for faking Sydney's death.  Now we'll all get to hear Sami's hyperventilating sobs for weeks to come.  Dude, can't you scrump someone in a stuck elevator or something?  Anna's free.

Hope comes in a close second.  The poor thing's unconscious in the hospital; and Bo spent all of five seconds by her side before rushing back to be Carly's hero.  Hope, maybe it really is time to give Justin a chance now.  I think you've held out for your non-hero long enough!

PERFORMER OF THE WEEK:  Leann Hunley.  She's doing a great job with what she has to work with.  Hopefully, DAYS will keep her around once this Sydnapper mess is over with.

SCENE OF THE WEEK:  When Melanie got shot by Mom.  Not really a great scene, but everything else was pretty damned boring.  Oh, and a tip for Carly:  if you don't want to get put in jail for shooting somebody, screaming "I'LL KILL YOU!" to Vivian Alamain doesn't help your case much.

Terry O'Quinn interview

He talks about nuLocke with Entertainment Weekly.  Also,  Tuesday's eppy  is titled, "Lighthouse."  I like the idea that old Locke might be fighting to reclaim his image.  Why else would he be saying his mantra of "don't tell me what I can and cannot do!"

try, try again

We'll try again.  lol  We scheduled a blogtalkradio show for this Saturday at 11 pm est for an hour.  Hopefully it'll work this time.

Clip of Mary Beth Evans on Nip/Tuck

You can actually watch this clip at work.  lol  No sex or swearing.  Bummer that Mary Beth Evans didn't get a love scene with Julian McMahon.  BTW, Nip/Tuck was canceled.  It last airs in March.  As a former fan, I'm not surprised.  The show got too dark.

Steve Blackwood doing well in Michigan

Story on Steve's success working in Detroit.  Congrats to him.

No blogtalkradio show tonight.

Not sure what happened.  I scheduled the show yesterday.  And the site didn't schedule it.  Sorry.

Watch Shane Donovan Kick Butt!

Here is a clip on YouTube from the Celebrity Jeopardy game with Charles Shaughnessy (previously blogged about here on Diva).  I'm not a fan of game shows most of the time, but I had a smile on my face the entire time I watched Charlie kick butt.  It was an exciting and close game.  You can find the other two portions of the episode on YouTube.  Congrats, Charles, for your win!!!

New time for Diva blogtalkradio show tomorrow!

We scheduled this week's show for 10 pm est for an hour Saturday night.  10 just worked out better for us this weekend.

Friday's eppy

How not to wake someone up from a coma.

Stephanie/Nathan.  Sex. Skiing.  Stephanie rips up Melanie's declaration of love to Nathan.  Nathan doesn't answer the phone when Maggie calls to tell him about Mel.

Brady/Ariana.  Briana celebrate Mel's coma by having sex.  Brady leaves for the hospital.

Mel/Phil/Maggie.  Mel gets visits from Philip and Maggie.  Even Maggie couldn't get this Diva to cry with her tearful pleas to Mel to wake up.  Even if you don't read spoilers, you know that Mel won't die. I hate hospital scenes for the miraculously healed.  We all know she'll be healthy quite quickly.

Bo/Carly.  Bo bails out Carly who complained about her awful night in jail.  Boo friggin hoo.  DumBo takes out a loan to spring Carly.  Carly has a restraining order preventing her from going near her shooting victim.  Carly knows Bo will lose his money if she sees Melanie, so she goes anyway.  Well, looks like Bo's out of Hope, and change.  lol

Hope/Justin.  Justin is with Hope at her  hospital bedside.  Against doctor's orders, Hope leaves to go to the police station.

Chloe/Daniel.  Daniel wants Chloe to see a shrink.  Chloe's not thrilled.

Mel/Brady.  Brady visits Mel at the hospital and says she's like a sister to him.  Awwwwwww.

Bope.  Hope fills in Bo that his dad knew Viv wanted Melanie killed.  Hope learns that Bo blew his money on Carly's bail.  Hope realizes he does love Carly, and leaves in tears.  That was a bigger tearjerker than anything going in Mel's hospital room.  Bo is speechless, which I do not have a problem with.  lol

Chloe/Ari.  They are at the Pub.  I wonder if they'll ever give Ari a better job than waiting tables.  Chloe cancels her shrink appointment.

Phil/Justin.  Justin clues in Philip on what Vivian did.  Phil's not happy.  When Phil's not angry, he's super hot!  For this part, I can't wait for Monday.  Great purple shirt too.  Very sexy.

Maggie/Dan.  Dan touched Maggie's shoulder or something.  And yeah, it creeped me out.  For Pete's sake, she's only been widowed a month!  lol

Carly/Dan/Mel.  Carly sneaks into the hospital dressed as a doctor.  Of course, no one spots her even though she's dressed like that daily.  Dan finally spots her.  She's forbidden to be at the hospital under police orders.  He tells her that she shouldn't see Melanie because it would cause a great shock to Melanie putting her life in danger.  Of course, Carly wants to see her anyway.  Dan lets her since he learned nothing from letting Nicole badger Tony to death.  So Carly, visits her daughter.  It's a very nice scene really.  Carly gets up to leave, and Melanie wakes up.

Blah with a few highlights.  Hope's pain when she found out Bo went broke for Carly was heartbreaking.  Great job by Kristian Alfonso.  Jay Kenneth Johnson did some Jack Nicholson channeling from "The Shining" when he called up the stairs for Vivian to come down.  Crystal Chappell was pretty good at Melanie's bed side.  I'd score the eppy a B.

Maggie Grace confirmed back on Lost

Maggie Grace played Shannon Rutherford, Boone's stepsister/lover.  Also Shannon had recently started a relationship with Sayid when Ana Lucia accidentally shot her to death in season 2.  So who do you think Shannon will end up with her in sideways life?  Boone, Sayid, or another bad boy?

Sheri Anderson on Frances Reid's passing

Sheri Anderson Thomas was a co-head writer for Days of our Lives from 1982-1986.  She also was a head writer for DOOL in 1992.  Sheri posted on our blog about her feelings on Frances.

Wednesday's eppy

Blah.

Melanie:  Lexie gets in control of the situation and gets Melanie to the hospital.  Daniel eventually performs surgery on her.

Danloe:  Average acting on Nadia's part of Chloe mourning her non-existent baby.  She was much better than Shawn Christian.  Daniel talked to Chloe like she was his patient and not his fiance.  I would have liked to have seen some sadness in him.  He sounded too clinical to me explaining to Chloe how her body tricked her into thinking she was pregnant.

Stephanie/Nathan.  Major eye groping on Nathan's part.  His eyes were permanently fixed on Stephanie's cleavage.  Blah love scene.

Anna/EJ/Rafe.  Rafe interrogates Anna again.  I know Anna is really guilty, but Rafe's suspicions of her are ludicrous.  Rafe's smugness annoys me.  I'm on team EJAnna on this one.  I hope they keep fooling him.  EJ throws Sydney's nosebleed clothes off the Pier o' Death.  EJ calls Sami to join him at the DiMansion.

Safe.  They nauseate me.  When Sami crawled into his lap at the Pub, I was expecting "daddy" Rafe to burp her.  He probably cut her meat for her too.  I'm starting to get the feeling that this a daddy/daughter relationship, not a relationship of equals.  I miss the Sami who tried to live a man-less life last  year.  I miss the Sami who was trying to find a job.  Sami needs to find herself without a man.  Declaring every man she dates as her soulmate annoys me.  She's the Drew Barrymore of Salem.  She's in love all the time sometimes with two men at a time.  I would like to see her out of love once.

KiMansion.  Victor tells Vivian Melanie better live for Viv's sake or she's dead.  If Mel lives, Victor's happy that two time attempted murderer Carly gets prison.  Oh please.  She's screwing a Brady who happens to be commissioner.  She spent all hour today not being arrested because of her arm injury that never got treated.

Kate.  Kate threatens Vivian.  Finally!  What took the writers so long to get Kate involved in this storyline?  She should be snooping and investigating Vivian.

Ok.  I pretty much stop watching after that.  The show got dull again.  It's hard to watch a show when you don't care about any of the couples really.  I like Kate/Stefano, they are hardly on.  I don't like Barly, Phelanie, Nathan/Stephanie, Safe, Danloe, Arianna/Brady, etc.  I still enjoy the partnerless vets like Maggie, Victor, and Vivian.  The show needs to scrap a lot of these new couples and start over and write some romance for a change!

Daniel Dae Kim cast in Hawaii Five-0

Kim plays Jin Kwon on Lost.  He has been cast as the lead in the new Hawaii Five-0 as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

David Canary retires

David Canary is on All My Children.  He plays Adam and the late Stuart Chandler.  Here's the story from Entertainment Weekly.

Peace and Kharma

"Peace and Kharma" that's what it said on Helen's shirt on tonight's eppy of Lost.  I'm sure that meant something.

This Diva truly floved this episode.  Terry O'Quinn rocks my socks off.  I bow down to his awesomeness.  Why can't every episode be a Locke episode?  Fuck Jack and Kate.  Really!

Ok.  Poor sideways John Locke has a broken chair lift on his van, which leads him to fall down on his lawn activating the sprinkler system.  He has a good sense of humor about it.  You still sense his resentment about being paralyzed.  He's engaged to Helen.  Apparently, he's on good terms with his father since Helen wants to invite him to their quickie wedding in Vegas.  Locke wants to wait for their wedding in October.  Yes, the Diva has a crush on Mr. Clean.  Yeah, it was kind of hot seeing him in the tub.  lol  Maybe it's just me, but when John picked the lighter shade of green for that chair cover, it reminded me of the same color he wore on his shirt on the island.  Locke always had an Army green color shirt on the island.  Anyway, probably means nothing.

Locke gets busted by Randy for skipping out on his box selling conference to do his walkabout.  Locke wasn't permitted to do the walkabout yet did not go to any business meetings.  Well, he did something to be so tan.  You'd think he would still do business work since he was there instead of skipping all of it.  So Locke got fired.  Outside, Locke encounters the owner of the company, Hurley.  I believe it was revealed in Season 1 that Hurley bought Locke's company with his winnings.  Hurley has Locke go to apply for other work.  After getting frustrated with a touchy feely interviewer, Locke asks to talk to the supervisor who is the lovely Rose. Who would have thunk it that we would see Rose twice in 3 episodes?  BTW, what happened to Bernard and Rose when Jughead blew up?  Maybe they are the candidates.  lol  Rose tells Locke to accept his paralysis and to chose a more logical job opportunity.  Rose still is suffering with her terminal cancer.

Locke ends up a substitute teacher teaching kids about their reproductive systems.  lol  In the teacher's lounge, he encounters European History teacher Benjamin Linus.  I love Locke, still hate Ben but love Michael Emerson, but damn really?  They're teachers?  Couldn't we pick something a little more exciting for those two?  How about Ben Linus as a psychologist or a serial killer?  You know, something more appropriate.  Locke comes to terms with his paralysis and tears up Jack's card after initially calling Jack's office and hanging up.

Ok, NuLocke on the island is about as successful as Locke was to get the Losties to do his bidding. We see this awesome footage from Smokey's point of view zipping around the island to the barracks.  NuLocke picks up Locke's infamous knife to cut down Richard from a trap.  Richard chooses not to come with nuLocke.  Locke threatens to see him later.  We see a young blonde boy in the woods.  It's hard to tell, but I think the boy had bloody hands.  I believe it was a sign for nuLocke that he wasn't allowed to kill Richard.  If nuLocke is telling the truth, Richard didn't know why he blindly followed Jacob.  Richard did not appear to see the boy.

Locke then looks for Sawyer.  The music in the background btw is "Search and Destroy" by Iggy Pop.  The very appropriate lyrics can be found here.  Lucky me.  The Diva actually knew that song.  Def Leppard covered it with guitarist Phil Collen singing lead a few years ago. The song was rejected for the "Yeah" cover album, but they put it on a bonus album with a few other covers.  Ok...back to nuLocke and James.  So James is wearing his wifebeater and boxers drinking liquor and listening to Iggy Pop.  He's not really interested in Locke at all.  When he realizes it's not the real Locke, he's not scared.  I thought that was perfect.  It's nice to see nuLocke not get his way by intimidating people.  I'm impressed with Josh Holloway, he totally stole the scene from O'Quinn, definitely not easy to do.  NuLocke promises him answers, so Sawyer gets dressed, bummer, and follows him into the jungle.  In the jungle, we see the blonde boy again.  Locke chases after him.  The blonde boy tells him he can't kill him.  It's vague on who "he" is.  He might not mean Sawyer.  Richard catches up with Sawyer and warns him to get away from nuLocke and go to the Temple with him.  Sawyer wants nothing to do with the Temple and leaves with Locke.  Sawyer pulls a gun on Locke, but can't pull the trigger.  Sawyer admits he did see the blonde boy which stuns nuLocke.  It's awesome to see that NuLocke doesn't "know all."  I think he may have misunderestimated some of the Losties including Sawyer.

We see nuLocke and Sawyer on a rope ladder.  They eventually after some ropes breaking, make it into a cave in this huge rock overlooking the ocean.  NuLocke takes a white rock off a measuring balance, and throws it into the ocean calling it an "inside joke."  NuLocke shows Sawyer their names written on the wall with numbers.  Obviously, Hurley's numbers actually represented the Losties.  The dead characters' names were scratched off.  Reyes, Jarrah, Shephard, Ford, and Kwon were left.  I can't remember if they had Kate's name up there too.  NuLocke didn't know which Kwon, Sun or Jin.  NuLocke tells Sawyer that Jacob wrote those names.  He said that Jacob crossed paths with them when they were at their most vulnerable to steer them to their destiny on the island. He says that basically Jacob controlled their lives from then on.  So I'm assuming  from last year's finale, when Jacob physically touched the characters,  was their "restart" button.  Still that doesn't explain Locke being on good terms with his father because Jacob touched him after Locke's father pushed him out the window.  He touched Kate when she stole as a child, so maybe she did not kill her father.  He touched Sun and Jin at their wedding when they were still in love and before Jin became a thug for her father.  He touched Jack at the hospital, not sure the timing on that one.  He touched Hurley in the cab with the guitar case with the list in it.  I don't remember the time frame on that one either.  I think it was after he was in the mental hospital.  It looked like the same place Kate picked up Claire last week.  NuLocke said that Jacob had a thing with numbers.  NuLocke gave Sawyer 3 options.  To do nothing, to be the candidate, or to leave with nuLocke.  I think it's a safe bet that Sawyer picks the third option.  NuLocke explains that Jacob fought to protect the island.  NuLocke wants to leave.

BTW, Illiana said that Lapidus was a candidate during last season's finale.  So is Lapidus on the wall somewhere?  Wasn't Lapidus supposed to be the pilot of 815?  What about Desmond?  I need to see this wall again.

Illiana mourns her men in Jacob's lair.  She asks Ben what happened to them.  He tells her all the unbelievable details.  I think she believes him.  Poor dead Locke has a crab crawling on his head.  Illiana wants to leave for the Temple with Lapidus, Sun, and Ben.  Sun wants to bury Locke.  They dig a grave for him on Boone Hill.  Lapidus asks for someone to say some words for deadLocke.  Ben speaks up.  He describes Locke as a believer, man of faith that he is sorry for murdering.  lol  It's kind of funny even though I was crying.  I love oldLocke.  It kills me that he's really dead.  Lapidus said it was the best funeral he's been to.  lol

Your thoughts?

This was definitely a 4 star episode.  Brilliant.

I forgot to add that Illiana tells Ben, Lapidus, and Sun that Smokey is trapped in Locke's image.  He cannot take another image.  So does that mean he's not Christian Shephard?  He was nuLocke and Christian at the same time.  When Lapidus and Sun were in a Dharma building, they were talking to Christian with the smoke monster behind them.  I believe nuLocke was still at the crash site.  I'm confused.  lol

Tonight's Lost eppys is about...

John Locke.  Thus this episode will not suck!  lol  The Diva will blog tonight after the show.

Blind Item!

An actor has told one of my spies that s/he didn't want to do an interview with a certain journalist who shall remain nameless because the journalist, "has a way of putting his own spin on things."  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

"She brought the new husband" "Cute couple"

Yes they are so damn cute! Ok The Diva knows this is suppose to be about Philip and Melanie, but State is the couple that is holding my attention and we all know Phelanie ain't going to last. The Diva sees a future for the new Mr and Mrs DiMera. So Lucas goes to warn Kate and Stefano to behave at the wedding or he will take care of them. Now all of a sudden Lucas finds his balls! Ok Days let's give him another chance here.

Danloe/ Ok she is pregnant now that we have that out of the way let's get on with it.

Nathan/Stef/Melanie Yes Steph you are still the odd girl out but it was nice to see Stefanie not be so nice. So she doesn't give Nathan the letter that Melanie wrote asking him if he still cares and then tells Melanie she did and that he wouldn't read it. You so know Stephanie is going down for this when Nathan and Melanie finally do talk.

Victor/Hope Always enjoy their scenes together. Victor tells Hope not to worry Vivian is not going to hurt Melanie. Hope wants to know why he is so sure and he tells her some Greek mythology story that I guess he used to figure out the comb was poison so then switched it without Vivian or any of us knowing. Hope finally understands and goes looking for Bo and he is still on his stake out which btw The Diva doesn't understand how the Commissioner of Police is out on a stake out and not attending his brother's wedding? Does the man have no clout?? She finds his cell with Carly's message and goes to find her.

Carly/Gus/Vivian So Carly is superwoman now and takes out Gus. Still don't like the guy and Ivan needs to return. Vivian thinks she poisened Melanie and made Carly watch. Carly pretends she is Gus and Texts Viv to come to the warehouse. Viv falls for it and Carly trades in her knife for an oversized wrench to do the job on Vivian.

Abe/Lexie So why are they at Philip's wedding?? Ah yes because Abe needs to marry Philip and Melanie because the Justice of the Peace has the flu. A lame way to give Abe and Lexie some screen time but The Diva will take it.

Lexie/ Stefano Loved their short scene today when Lexie grabs a cake from Stefano and he says to her so you still do care. She still thinks he is up to something and then hits him in the stomach and says lose some weight.

Maggie/ Nathan convinces her to go the wedding when he lays a guilt trip on her that he will have to stay home with her and miss his weekend with Stephanie if she doesn't go to the wedding. Maggie goes and she looks amazing. We also see Mia, Will and Ali at the wedding. Justin is filling in for Bo.

Almost time for the wedding and Vivian is missing and Melanie is passed out upstairs. Hope is on her way to rescue Carly and arrest Viv. Or is that the other way around?

"because they haven't tried to kill her yet."

Wow.  What a friggin hysterical eppy today.  Bravo to the script writer.

State:  Kate's miffed that Stefano wasn't going to attend the wedding.  Stefano changes his mind.  Stefano offers to kill off any of Kate's in-laws if she wants.  Kate says that he must trust her and asks for him to destroy the evidence against her poisoning Chloe.  Stefano laughs, and says,  "nice try."  lol  I love State.   What a fantastic couple.  Kate looked fab.  The Diva even liked her snake pin on her chest.  Very appropriate!

Vic/Phil:  Wonderful touching scenes between the two of them.

Viv/Mel/Steph/Ari:  They're scenes were a little Passionsesque.  Mel, Steph, and Ari talking about how weird Viv is.  Viv keeps trying to get Mel to wear the poisoned comb.  Melanie's second dress is as awful as the first.  Ugh.  The dress was too short too.  Steph and Ari didn't look much better.  The material looked cheap.  Ari was really working the breast implants today.  WTF was the "to Mrs. Philip Kiriakis, long may she live."  Who the fuck gives a toast like that to the bride?  I guess they thought it was appropriate since she was marrying into the Roberts/Kiriakis/Alamain family.

Hope/Justin/Ciara/Victor:  Ciara shares the big Carly secret with her mom and Justin.  Maybe Hope should have just asked her all along.  lol  Hope tries to warn Victor about Vivian.  Wonderful conversation about there being too much chatter at the Kiriakis house.

Carly/Nathan/Gus:  Nathan orders Carly to stay in her hospital bed.  She refuses.  Gus knocks her out and puts her on a gurney disguising her as a corpse.  lol  Good times!

Lucas/Phil.  Wow.  Lucas is the voice of reason!  Nice to see someone try to talk some sense into Philip.  Melanie's too young to get married.  It's such a shame about Bryan Dattilo being let go.  Philip is going to need his big brother.  Great one liners today with these two.  Philip commented on how well Melanie handles his crazy family.  Lucas responds, "because they haven't tried to kill her yet."  lol  It's odd how everyone is afraid of Kate but not Vivian.

Chloe/Daniel.  Chloe passes her pregnancy test.  Daniel falls asleep before she can break the good news.

Today's eppy was near perfect in spite of one very obvious factual error.  Victor tells Hope that it's Philip's first wedding.  Hello?  What about the Phelle wedding?  Funny how I just mentioned the Phelle wedding on our blogtalkradio show last Saturday.  We need Belle to crash through the french doors of the KiMansion riding a Harley to break up the wedding.

The Infected

Ok, here's my impression about last night's Lost.

I read a preview that the show was about Kate, but it seemed more like it was about Claire to me.  Sawyer escapes the Temple with Jin and Kate following him.  Kate knocks out the two Others that came along including the humorous Justin.  Kate trails Sawyer to the Dharma compound, while Jin goes out on his own to look for the plane/Sun.

Kate finds a distraught Sawyer at the compound.  He tells her on the pier that he was planning on proposing to Juliet.  She apologizes a few times for disrupting his life.  Sawyer says some people are destined to be alone then he tosses the engagement ring into the ocean.  You feel his pain.  But also you feel Kate's pain.  She's truly sorry for him.  IMHO, she's also upset that she's not the love of Sawyer's life. Juliet is.  Kate appears to pack up to leave, while Sawyer is oblivious to her actions.

*spoiler*  Looks like nuLocke visits Sawyer at the compound next week.  Can't wait for that!

During Kate's other reality, the cab driver leaves the cab.  Kate drives while keeping pregnant Claire in the back seat.  Eventually Kate lets Claire leave.  Claire begs for her baggage in the trunk.  Kate leaves.  She finds a mechanic who removes her handcuffs.  It's odd how many people help someone clearly under arrest! Kate sees that Claire's bag was full of baby items.   Kate goes back and talks Claire into accepting a ride to the adoptive couples' house.  Seriously, wtf?  Why would anyone do that?  The adoptive couple stood her up at the airport.  They show up at the couples' door to find the distraught wife who tells Claire that she is separated from her husband and no longer wants the child.

Claire goes into labor.  Kate drives her to the hospital.  Lo and behold, Claire's ob/gyn is creepy Ethan from the island, the doctor who kidnapped her and gave her shots.  Ethan also killed many of the Losties and almost killed Charlie.  Charlie eventually kills Ethan.  Anyway, there's a small panic when the baby's heartbeat isn't detected.  The ultrasound shows a healthy baby.  Claire names the unborn boy, Aaron.  She decides to take medicine to delay labor.  Claire's at 36 weeks.  Cops come in to look for Kate.  Claire covers for her.  Kate thanks her.

Undead Sayid had a rough episode.  lol  Dogen shocks him then puts a hot poker on his chest.   Lennon tells him that he passed the test.  Lennon then tells Dogen that he probably just lied to Sayid, which Dogen confirms.  Dogen conjures up a pill for Sayid to take, and asks Jack to give the meds to him.  Jack gives the pill to Sayid.  Sayid says he trusts Jack.  Jack goes back to Dogen and announces that Sayid did not take the pill and swallows it himself.  Dogen does the Heimlich to get the pill out of Jack.  Dogen then tells Jack it was poison.  He claims that Sayid is infected.  Dogen tells Jack that Sayid is infected like his sister.  The infection that Dogen is alluding to, is the one that happened to Rousseau's crew when they all turned homicidal against her.  I'm not convinced it's an infection.  I got the impression then that her crew was really just being impersonated by the smoke monster.  He impersonates Locke and Christian, so why not her crew?

There was a lot of references towards Rousseau.  Kate almost trips a few booby traps.  The Others tell her they weren't set by Rousseau since she's been dead for years.  Justin almost spills the beans that it's Claire setting the traps.  To recap, Kate knocks out the Others.  Jin goes his own way.  The Others catch up with Jin, and capture him.  Claire shoots them dead.  With her disheveled appearance, you definitely get the impression that Claire is the new Rousseau.  They both had children taken from them to be raised by others.  We're not sure yet why Claire left Aaron, but she's not raising him, that's the bottom line.  They both became recluses.  It's an odd twist.  I'm not sure that I like it though.

In conclusion, I don't buy that Sayid is "infected."  I don't buy that Claire is "infected."  I do like the new ballsy Jack.  He admitted that he didn't trust himself.  I'm glad he's getting some street smarts.  I'm not really interested in what happens to alternative reality Kate.

Leann Hunley on NCIS

When you're hot, you're hot.  First, Leann Hunley did a guest spot last fall on Law & Order SVU.  Then came her surprise return on Days of our Lives.  Now she'll star on NCIS according to TV Guide.  Why doesn't this Emmy winner have a contract yet on DOOL?

One More LUMI Night

DAYS insider Judie Henninger twittered "Thursday, 2/18 Sami/Lucas scene for all you Lumi fans".  Is this one last LUMI goodbye?  Or dare we hope that maybe Lucas will be written back on the show?

Fancy Face Picks 2/1 to 2/5

WINNER OF THE WEEK: Alice Horton. The sad passing of Frances Reid made most DAYS viewers remember everything that we ever loved about the great matriarch of the Horton clan.

LOSER OF THE WEEK: Stephanie Johnson. Why is the kid of the spunky couple, Steve and Kayla, mooning away over Doc Nathan who obviously isn’t that into her? I wish she’d go crash a race car or something.

SCENE OF THE WEEK: Ciara’s Meltdown. This triangle isn’t playtime anymore, now that Ciara is going the way of Sami Brady. Another interesting twist.

PERFORMER OF THE WEEK: Frances Reid.  Sort of a post-mortem tribute, but what the hey.

HYPOCRITE OF THE WEEK: Sami proclaims to Anna “What sort of monster would take a woman’s baby?” – Um, seems to me I recall a young girl who sold her baby sister Belle to the black market. Look in the mirror, Sami.

"That Is Where You Are Dead Wrong"

Welcome Back Anna DiMera! EJ better watch out because the way Anna said "Dead" he may very well find himself that way. Finally this is the Anna DiMera The Diva knows and loves. Anna is finally standing up for herself and not talking any crap from EJ. He wants to send her away now that they have been compromised. Is he really that afraid of Rafe? Come on EJ you are a DiMera take care of the SOB! The Diva is wondering if Anna will turn the tables on EJ and come clean. She is having her doubts. I am loving Anna and Leann. This lady needs to stay in Salem.

Kate/Vivian The other good part of today's show. Love these two and their cat fights. Kate stoled Viv's deadly gift to Melanie and when Melanie caught her with it tried to tell her that she and Viv had made up and that the gift was for both of them and wanted Melanie to open it. Viv *saved* the day and now Kate is on to her and overheard her talking about Carly and now is putting two and two together when she hears Carly talking about Melanie and Vivian to Bo.

Melanie/Nathan/Stephanie. Stef he is not that into you. Nathan is getting drunk at the Brady Pub over Melanie marrying Philip and doesn't have the time of day for Stephanie which she still doesn't see. Melanie runs into Nathan and she is starting to have her own doubts. Come on you all know those two belong together.

Safe Oh God they are back together. Rafe is getting ino hero mode again when he starts to figure out that Anna is somehow involved in the Sydnapping. He confronts EJ and tells him he ran into Anna at Sami's place. EJ was shitting his pants LOL! Of course he is telling Sami that Rafe is just grasping at straws to try and will her back. Damn Sami fell for it too.

Danloe Oh God Chloe figures out she may be pregnant because of Melanie's wedding date. No The Diva is not sure how either, but god forbide if we have to go through a Danloe pregnancy. I still want this couple to vanish. I actually prefer Brady and Daniel myself. They were just so cute together having their daddy discussions today.
