Days of Our Lives sinks to last place

But, hey!  Ken Corday thinks DOOL is going to win the Emmy next year.  Here's some very obvious advice:  Fire your producer and head writer.  Hire someone like Sheri Anderson who actually understands what soap fans want.

  1. How low do the ratings have to go before that idiot cans DH and GT?

  2. I cannot see it happening. Corday does not have the money to pay DH and GT contract plus a new HW and a new Ex. Prod. Corday always does this hires crappy people and is stuck with them. Sadly when he gets rid of them he does not learn his lesson and just hires more incompetents. He then crows about bringing back vets, but does not use them or puts them in as props to push the characters fans do not want to see, or he lets hacks ruin the characters further angering the fans who came back to see their favorites, so they stop watching.

  3. Good point about the DH/GT contracts. I wonder when they expire.

  4. No, the mine rescue occurred this week, this is for the previous week.

  5. Sheri would clean house. She would stop the silliness of Bo with Carly, Jennifer with Ty Treadway's characters, and isn't she Bryan's agent, so I would think she would bring him back as well. I would also trust a story with Jack's past coming back to haunt him, and the drama it would cause and how it would affect him, Kayla, Abigail, Stephanie and Jennifer.

  6. that should be, "I would trust her" to do it justice, Dena does not have the brains to think about that, and if she did it would be pathetic and lacking no substance.

  7. They need to get rid of half of the cast and get back to core characters that we care about. Sami needs to be rehabilitated back to her real self and not some sociopathic version of Marlena and By all means bring back Jack and Abby.

  8. I doubt Sheri would be able to turn thing around; her writing style would be too old school for the show, and with the way today's soaps are being runned, Sheri wouldn't have the creative power or time to turned things around.

I guess the advice should be "running a soap on an $150,000 per week budget isn't the best way to bring in viewers to watch your shitty product."

I'm amazed at how some DAYS fans will find any excuse for the soap's ratings but give shit to other soaps when there ratings drop.

Maybe DAYS could learn some lessons from this short film "The Last Farm."

  9. She might not turn it around, but at least its final year -- and I am sure it will not last past 2011 -- it will be true to its roots, and the remaining episodes would be a testament to what made DAYS DAYS. And if the webisode soaps continue to be popular who knows maybe the tide will turn in regards to network soaps. If there is even a jump from 1.8/.7 to a 2 if not NBC some other source might pick it up. But as is I do not see that remotely occurring. And again, when DAYS ends why not do so in a way that honors the principles which made DAYS great -- and that would occur with Sheri writing.

  10. Corday is under the delusion that Higley/Tomlin/Whitesell are creative geniuses. With an imbecile like him at the helm, and he ain't going no where, I don't see how this show can be saved. I honestly do not understand how Dena Higley keeps her job. She must know where the bodies are buried or something.

I don't enjoy Days at all right now but I don't want the show to go off the air.

  11. Corday should have showed some guts and not have rolled over in 2003. He gave into NBC by taking back JERk and that just started the ball rolling. Back in 2003 the show was still healthy, they had most of the vets and Frons of ABC was interested in the show. I think that had Corday stayed firm we would not have gotten JERk back, and there would not have been the disaster of 2003 through 2006. Either NBC would have cancelled the show but ABC would have picked it up or NBC would have caved fearing that DAYS would go to ABC. Back before JERk took over DAYS was on the point of signing Mary Beth and Stephen, but that stalled. They could have gotten rid of Dena and got someone decent instead of her or JERk.

  12. Whats this about Jenn dating Ty Treadways character? Damnit I thought Carly might actually get a new love interest after Bope gets back together why waste Ty Treadway on Jenn when we all know he's just a placeholder for Jack?

  13. Sheri Anderson is Bryan Dattilo's agent ?! Seriously ?! lmao.

  14. I am not sure he is a placeholder. I really think TIIC have no desire to bring back Matt. He wants to come back and yet they are not bringing him back? i think TIIC really think that Missy will click with Ty, and sorry the fans have not accepted her with anyone else, and Jennifer is fastly becoming Sami with all her men. Jennifer was like Alice, and now she is like her father Bill. A new man comes around and she goes with him. If he returns I do not see it happening until later in the summer and then DAYS ends in October or November. If Jennifer gets serious with another loser I DO NOT want Jack to take her back. Have Jack revert back to his evil days and make life hell for Jennifer and others. Taking her back would make him a walking doormat -- no pun intended.

The question is why even waste air space on Ty. Right I forgot everyone has been asking for him to come to DAYS. NOT. And playing two characters, who cares.

  15. awww I love Ty I think he's great especially when he plays dual roles but I really don't want to see him with Jenn.
