  2. I don't necessarily want supercouple writing by the way just good and more subtle writing and i know she can do it unlike the current regime.
More character-driven stories and the plot driven stories in the garbage IMO.

Well first of all I want Sheri back writing for DAYS! Tony DiMera needs to get back to Salem and awaken Anna with a kiss. Eugene and Calliope need to come back so Anna and her can mend their friendship. Of course Steva and Kayla and Kim and Shane.

Congrats Diva! Things are just rockin here on the Diva Blog!

  4. To Queen of the Night

Totally. I was so disappointed how Rafe played Calliope against Anna. And how Rafe was so cold hearted towards Anna. Just made me not like Rafe at all. I kinda want Anna to come back to Salem and be involved in a storyline with Nicole. They work so well together, plus they both like to drink!

  5. I always find it proof the writers post-93 were full of it when it came to the supercouple. They said that supercouples limit characters. Then why was it that when there was the supercouples, and second string couples, that the characters were more developed and had more depth. Why were other couples more involved. The reason JERk and Langdon killed the supercouple was because they had not the skill to write complex characters, which were unique, had their own personalities, and who were shaped by their personalities and histories. Because of this, the supercouples were unique. Because of this, the characters were multi-generational, and unique. They did it because they wanted shocking plots and just bed hopping, characters rected to the plots which made it easy for the untalented hacks, they did not have to write just throw stuff out there. Sheri was the old guard, and she did not fit into this style. But in the end it was Corday's fault. It was his show, and he let JERk/Lamedumb take over the show. Sadly, it never has recovered.

Sheri cared about characters and romance over silly plots.

  7. Sheri Anderson was another person who cared. She got kicked out in 1991, and things started changing them. Langan came in to take over and the show's philosophy was ruined. I remember reading an interview in SOD on Becky Greenlaw -- one of the last producers from the old times -- the summer of 1993 after Matt, Crystal, and Michael were fired -- after we lost Susan Hayes, MBE, and Charles -- she was pretty much fired. She told either take a big pay cut of she was fired. She said she was really upset and stated that she was one of the last people left who was fighting for the actors, and pretty much implied, if not down right stated, that that was why she was fired. Langan and Reilly were putting in their people. Just before that in later 92 it was supposed to be Sheri and JER, but Sheri disappeared and JERk was solely in control. By the summer almost everyone from the past was gone from the production or writing departments.

  8. bring back Jack, one of the most complex characters ever created! bring back Jack and Jennifer, one of the most compelling pairings on daytime! Thank you, Sheri Anderson, for being a part of that!

  9. ABSOLUTLEY agree with the previous poster...J & J were the reason I switched completly to Days after being raised on CBS soaps. Back then each soap had something they did well and the money to do it lavishly.Days was THE most romantic soap without question,to be fair fans were willing to wait months before their favorite couple would even kiss because the writing and chemistry was magical. I don't think any soap is as good now as in the 80s or early 90s

  10. Sheri's my favorite DOOL writer too. You have no idea how excited I am for this interview!

  11. I would love for Steve and Kayla to come back, but not with the current writers in place. No way. If I thought Sheri was coming back to Days, I would spend a small fortune campaigning to get Steve and Kayla back on the show!

  12. In term of couples they have a goldmine with Ej and Sami; their attraction, reunion is even slow-burn but they fucked up (again) with making Ej scheming the Sydney kidnapping and as a result creating a big lie between them. They never do right isn't it ?! sigh...
They don't know how to write interesting, sexy couples but the worse in all of that is they don't know how to write good storylines with character-written scenes.
The only good thing with this regime is the snarky dialogue for some characters (Victor, Vivian, Kate, Nicole..by the way why the other characters don't have this type of dialogue ?! hein ?).

  13. PLEASE come back and repair the damage that was done to Shane and Kim! You are the only one who understands them and can write characters as 3-dimensional personalities with depth and background. Bring back the romance, adventure and angst! Make it so we're not literally AFRAID to have our favorites back, because we don't trust the writers not to destroy them!

  14. In my opinion, whenever Sheri would work on a couple she would literally step into their shoes. My couple was/is Kimberly and Shane. I fell in love with these two characters. For a writer to sit down and try to think of new ways to keep the fans entertained or hooked, is a very hard task to do. In the case of Kimberly and Shane, I was always glued to my TV. Always wondering what will happen today. Sheri made this couple her own. For me, I believe that Sheri understands peoples inner feelings and emotions. Patsy Pease had amazing material to work with and Charles Shaughnessy made Shane his own as well. Patsy and Charles would take the script and rehearse their lines together and if they wanted to, they would change a couple of things to make it more believable as to what Kimberly and Shane are. Sheri let them do this, she had an enormous amount of trust in her cast/actors because she believed in them.
Thank you Sheri for what you have done with the different couples from all the soap operas you worked on. You are an amazing writer and I am very, very fortunate to have been able to watch and fall in love with the work you did. If you do happen to come back I know I will watch again. If you have a say as to whom you will bring back, please let it be Kimberly and Shane. The fans are still waiting for Kimberly and Shane to be Kim and Shane again...
    Thank you and Take Care!

  15. I will give her a pass for John and Marlena. Even the best can screw up once.

  16. Actually, Sheri created J&M. They were a wonderful couple until JER got a hold of them. JER made them a joke, not Sheri.

  17. I never liked J/M mostly hated them no matter who wrote. So for me they are a negative aspect of Sheri. Hated Drake as Roman, hated John even more so. I got started on DAYS in the summer of 81 as a kid, and then really got into the show in the fall. I liked Marlena from that time until Roman's first death. But not after that. And especially hated the character from her return in 91 onward. Though did not watch from 93 through 01 and little after that. Stopped several times until 06 when I gave up the ship completely. Of course I have lived in false hope. So I read what is happening.
