  1. Yeah it's bleeding but what they expect ?! There are no movements in their storylines ! Last year there were the Kiriakis/Dimera war, the Philip shooting, the Stephanie kidnapping, the baby-switch/Ejole wedding..this year we have the Hope little campy storyline and the never-ending Sydnapping..these stories are built-up but there is no climax..= BORING !
Whereas for General Hospital this year it is the opposite : there are lot's of movements and climax with all their storylines like the Michael trial, Sonny/Dante feud, Helena baby dna switch, Alexis who murdered her daughter's abusive boyfriend..and they are all tied.
I am wondering if Dool is waiting for June and the Alice tribute to give more movements to their storylines..i don't see other reasons seriously..

  2. May sweeps SUCKAGE. Take a bow, Dena!

  3. So much for the soap press and the DOOL fandom who kissed TPTB's ass. LOL!

  4. Nadia has been on the show almost every day. The ratings should have been through the roof! She is hella sexy. I love her! xoxoxo

  5. whoever is trying to spin this by saying that the show had to put storylines on hold because of waiting until June for the tribute to Alice is just making excuses. The ratings are dropping because people are finally starting to figure out Dena and Tomlin will drag this shit out foreva. Sure, last year we had the DiMera/Kiriakis war that lead NO where and relied on zero history lol. These writers are crap and I'm glad to see people are finally waking up to that fact

  6. Well, maybe Matt and Thaao can return to GH. Because apparently Corday does not think them worthy and that show seems to be improving; more importantly then Corday would get all upset because they went there, he seems to have this intense jealousy of that show. Then Missy can move over too -- Scott is on. I remember back in 1995/6 they were trying to get Missy to come on board. Maybe they can bring back Kristina Wagner -- does she still go by that name -- Matt and she had some good moments in the day, and some hot steamy scenes, or there could be a Matt/Missy reunion.

I thought Alice's funeral was put on hold because so much was happening during April and May?

  7. "I thought Alice's funeral was put on hold because so much was happening during April and May?"

I seem to remember reading that too which only goes to prove the people running DOOL are bigger idiots than I gave them credit for.

I'd love to see more of Thaao but I don't really want to see him go back to a show with writers that don't care about the Cassidines any more. Its still the sonny show. I will say GH is better but its still all about Sonny.

  8. Ok to be fair Matt can't return because he is touring with Mama Mia also it would be jarring to have Tony come back from the dead for Alice' funeral... the ratings are a direct result of the show turning into the Rafe //Melanie hour, neither character is worth all of that attention. having Ej be the kidnapper was such an awful twist infact the kidnapping was a waste of time except for Anna's return

  9. I'm not surprised Tomlin went this direction with the Melanie and Rafe hour. When Ed Scott was fired, it was obvious that quality was the last thing Corday and Sony care about.

  10. I will say there is actually potential for Melanie to be a liked character if the powers that be wrote for her in a more subtle way as for Rafe he is just a more macho and more arrogant version of Lucas if the writers are determined to keep Sami and EJ apart than they should bring back Lucas and kill Rafe off! I hate to say that actors should loose their jobs but I can think of about 10 characters who aren't needed they should get rid of the dead weight and either bring back favorites or just write for the characters viewers actually care about

  11. The first thing this trainwreck needs is new writers.

  12. ^^^^ditto that

  13. current ratings = cancellation

  14. I would be OK with the show ending now that Frances Reid is gone since she is the heart and soul of the show...Since most of the favorites are gone and the writing is somewhat decent(better than the JERk days) why not end with dignity on its 45th year???

    ReplyDelete
  15. Because some people still enjoy the show. I would never want a show ended simply because the Matriarch has passed away. I will admit that they should of set up someone for Alice to pass the torch to. I guess they've decided that its going to Maggie, and I'm ok with that. But really the writing has got to get better. Melanie needs to become more subtle. If I'm forced to have her as Carly Mannings daughter she has got to change. Sami has got to go back to scheming at least somewhat and have her in scenes with Vivian. Speaking of Vivian why is she cowering to Victor, her and Carly need to have there own storyline not Carly/Daniel/Chloe mess going on right now and just please put Bo/Hope back together so I can visit the boards again in peace.

  16. I'd like to think just new writers would solve the problem but with GT around, I doubt it. He and Corday are as big a problem as Whitesell and Higley. All of them think strictly plot is the way to go and with MB getting a nomination, I don't see them thinking they need to tone Melanie's character down. There is nothing subtle about this show and from the way they're writing it, I'd guess that is dirty word on the set.

  17. ^^ Ideally, Tomlin, Higley, and Whitesell would get the boot (there's no getting rid of Corday). But with Comcast no doubt eager to cut DOOL loose after the merger is finalized, there's no incentive to attempt a creative turnaround.

". . . just please put Bo/Hope back together so I can visit the boards again in peace."
    I know the feeling, Katie!

  18. I just am not sure Comcast will be able to buy NBC, if it did with all the pay stations NBC/GE owns they would have a monopoly and could force other cable and satellite companies to pay big for the rights to air those stations; maybe even put limitations on NBC, itself. Then they could even raise their rates because folks, but keep it lower than the others. They provide phone and internet service,as is, they would be a corporate monster. And heck, I rather like Comcast, it is nice having phone, computer and TV connected.

I think no matter what that NBC is just waiting until they move their studios, isn't that next year? They will not want a show like DAYS sucking up sound stages, when they can use it for its shows or demand big money for others to rent the space -- Corday would not have the money to rent. As is NBC might as well keep DAYS since they are not going to get a show buying sound stage space, they are old, probably outmoded and anyone renting would know they would have to move in a year.

  19. I am not hoping for the end of DOOL I am saying if it does have to end better now when the writing is decent and at a time when a landmark has been achieved than in a few years if/when storylines denegrate to the level they were 2 or 3 years ago and a tacky ending...I think in general soaps are dying and in 10-15 years Y&R will be lucky if it still on the air
or soaps will be at an even smaller scale

    ReplyDelete
  20. I wouldn't be surprised if all soaps were gone within 5 years, replaced by game/talk/reality shows. Y&R, which is going through a creative slump of its own right now, will likely be the last to go.

    ReplyDelete
  21. ^^with the attitude at CBS, I have to wonder about that

  22. I have been watching soaps all my life and the nature of these shows is that they have cycles when they are really good and cycles when they are bad but this isn't the 80's no one not the fans not the network is going to give Days a year to bounce back it has to come up with another brilliant story like the kidnapping or its off the air in my opinion EJami is it if anything

    ReplyDelete
  23. I don't know what is the deal with Days and sweeps but it does not go hand and hand unfortunately. Watching the promo for May and June generated some hype but it's not living up to expectations when watching every episode. I am liking EJami, NT Hope/Nicole/Baker, and the return of Bo coming this week. The rest of the show is basically unwatchable. I've been tuning into GH regularly and have been liking how the characters and the stories tie into. The writing is super and actors act their asses off everyday.

  24. I watched GH in the late 90s my problem is I cannot stand Sonny, I also am not a fan of this Carly the other two were sooooo much better also I have a one soap rule now and Days has had my loyalty for a long time it has been terrible (worse than now) but I always watch
