Carly, Vivian, and Justin first appearances
Thank You Lauren

The Diva now has something positive to say about the Danloe storyline and it's thanks to the brilliant Lauren Koslow. The Diva has hated this over the top ridiculous story of Kate once again meddling in her son's life, even though I have been rooting for that damn poison to finally work. But the look Kate gave Daniel when she knew he knew was pure soap and was delivered perfectly. Lauren's wonderful performance has been one of the few bright spots in this mostly dreadful storyline.
The Diva now hopes Lauren Koslow will finally be given a decent storyline when the equally wonderful Louise Sorel returns. So much potential there. I know everyone is thinking triangle with Victor or Stefano, but I say been there done that. How about using Roman this time in a triangle with Kate and Viv. Come on let's face it Josh ain't going anywhere with Kenny around and it has been painful to watch him with nothing to do so why not use him? Josh always seems to shine when Roman is involved with Kate or any woman for that matter. So Kaman fans what do you think? Or should I say Vivman fans? Possible? Why not? But that is a blog for another day.

SOD confirms the Diva!

About Louise Sorel returning to DOOL. Suck on that Kool-aid drinkers!
Props to Jamey at Daytime Confidential for giving me credit and linking the Diva today.
The Diva's got mail

That's right worshipers...Diva has now gotten mail. I know what your thinking...it is good mail not hate mail. Yeah Diva has fans and I love it. Take that Kool-aid haters!
Well last night Diva received a email from a group that will be campaigning to get Stephen and Mary Beth on the Young and the Restless. I personally think this is great and I would love to extend my hand to help in any way possible.
We all know that they got the shaft on Days so why not try to get them on Y&R? I personally don't watch Y&R, but if Stephen and Mary Beth went there I would most definitely watch.
So I am asking you all to go to this wonderful website and check everything out. Lets get this campaign started and get these two wonderful talents back on our screens.
http://snandmbe.com/wordpress/?page_id=60
I would like to extend my thank you to the Grass Rooters who sent me this email.

Mary Beth is Blogging

Mary Beth Evans is apparently blogging as well as continuing her column on Hybrid Mom. Here is her first blog that was posted on Friday. I for one hope to see her blog that she has a new acting gig coming soon...preferably something sexy that shows that unlike what Gary "The Ageist" Tomlin thinks, she is still an attractive woman and not quite ready for a walker just yet.
WTH are EJ's Balls?

Just like the late great Skork campaign of “WTH Are Steve and Kayla”, I have to ask “WTH are EJ’s Balls”? Last year, there was a Hoochie campaign where fans of Stefano, Tony and EJ Dimera all sent balls to the DAYS studio, requesting that the Dimeras please get their balls back. I don’t think we’ll ever see that happen. It’s bad enough that Tony is now dead. It’s bad enough that Stefano Dimera, one of the greatest soap villains of all time, is a doddering babysitting grandpa with high blood sugar. Now EJ, the last standing Dimera, is being spayed and neutered right in front of our eyes. If EJ’s not showing what a loving papa he is onscreen for the umpteenth time, he’s involved in Dimera business offscreen. Nicole has him completely whipped right now. Every once in a while, he’ll yell a bit just to remind us he’s a big bad Dimera and then he slinks back into his cave again. Fans are hoping that if and when the BIG REVEAL ever comes out about Baby Sydney, then we’ll see EJ back in his glory…but I worry that he’s becoming such a woose that it’s all going to turn out to be a crashing anti-climactic bore.
Whether you think EJ is one hot sexy British dish or that he’s just a nasty no-good rapist, one thing is for certain. His character was never meant to be boring. It’s just wrong when Sami opts for the dull-as-dishwater Rafe over EJ. It’s just wrong when Nicole the Golddigger has more brains than he has. I was hoping the whole Johnny Dimera custody battle would lead to some spicy EJAMI bloodfests, accompanied by intermittent scrumps when no one’s looking…but no, I guess that would be too passionate…too much what a successful soap opera is like. Slowly but surely, EJ is being pushed to the backburner. I’d hate to see EJ turn out like Jack Deveraux, meaning that he was a character that used to have teeth and was exciting to watch but then gets backburned and miswritten to the point where the less loyal viewers and the less committed headwriters forget what the character was about in the first place.
James Scott is still one of the most charismatic actors on DAYS right now. Maybe Gary Tomlin doesn’t have the hots for him like he does for Galen Gering or Eric Martsolf, but that’s a poor excuse to blow him off. I caution James Scott fans to fight to keep their man front and center. Best of luck to you.

Yikes, that's a bad week.
Kudos to Chris the Assistant

Another week of the Stephanie/Phillip/Melanie/Nathan/Stephanie ring of monotony. Another week of wondering just how many poisoned appetizers Kate has to feed Chloe before the bitch will hurry up and die already. Another week of watching Bo and Hope flip-flop from cop mode to the Twilight Zone and back again. (Maybe when Carly Manning returns, she can give her ex-lover Bo some much needed brain surgery and fix his ailment; it’s the least she could do after dumping him for Larry Alamain all those years ago.) Another week of draaaaagggging out the Nicole/EJ/Sami story for the rest of all time…with Sami’s constant speculations about Rafe’s dead tart fiancée named Emily Hudson. Who wants to lay bets that Emily will be played by some other PASSIONS Refugee Actress when her character comes back from the dead…probably to save Rafe from the gas chamber for her murder or some such nonsense. Since let’s face it…everything seems to be about Rafe now. But that’s another blog for another day.
But in between naps and shaking my head in disgust, there has been one bright spot on DAYS for me…and that’s been Chris, Kate’s Assistant. He is working his way right up there with Eugene and Calliope, Vivian and Ivan, Howie Hoffstedder and Bart as one of the great funny DAYS characters. While his scenes with Kate are always fun, I laughed my ass off during the Chris/Bo telephone conversation. And since the whole frame-up of Dr. Dan is such a silly over-the-top plot anyway, it’s not like Chris is dumbing down any of the other moronic characters involved.
Ross Mathews is already fairly known as a television personality from all kinds of stuff, most famously from THE JAY LENO SHOW. So it’s obvious that he doesn’t need DAYS for his bread and butter…and it shows. He effortlessly steals every scene he’s in, seemingly oblivious to any backstage politics or bullshit. He’s got a blog and a twitter page and an IMDB resume a mile long. Diva’s simply too sleepy from watching so much DAYS to link everything to this guy at the moment. But check it out if he’s your thang.
A nice change of pace to laugh with the soap rather than at it.
There. The Diva said one nice thing about PASSIONS LITE this week. Don’t get too used to it.
Kevin Spacey drank the Kool-Aid!

Kevin Spacey was on David Letterman on the 21st talking about how his business manager made him "drink the Kool-aid" and do twitter. Apparently neither Kevin nor Letterman knew that "drinking the kool-aid" is a racial slur according to David the troll who spammed the Diva blog last week claiming that I'm a racist for using that term. Anyway, I hope David the troll lives up to his promise of "educating" people that calling someone a "kool-aid drinker" is a racial slur. Since Mr. Spacey is on Twitter, I'm sure David the troll will have no problem getting a hold of Kevin Spacey.
*UPDATE* David the race baiter's youtube account has been suspended. I guess youtube is racist too.

Keeping up with Michael T. Weiss

Long before the days of Dr. Dan, we had Dr. Mike! Before Dan with Chelsea, Kate and Chloe…we had Mike with Robin, Janice, April and Carrie. My favorite Mike Horton version was played by Michael T. Weiss, who has since gone on to become famous as THE PRETENDER. However, he’s also building a nice little niche for himself doing theater. Since his days as Dr. Mike and Jarod, he’s also been doing a lot of regional theater and has been doing more and more theater in NYC.
In 2007, he starred in the play SCARCITY with Kristen Johnson at the Atlantic Theater Company. Any fan of Dr. Mike’s would hardly recognize him as the washed-up alcoholic football player with a sleazy side. He then starred in his Broadway debut in IMPRESSIONISMS this year with Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons. In this, he played the object of Joan Allen’s affection; alas, he only had eyes for the painting that he was buying. Unfortunately, the show did not set the Great White Way on fire and closed early. However, Weiss was featured in June 2009 VANITY FAIR in a photo shoot with the “25 hottest” theater stars of the season. He also recently gave a reading at Word Theater in NYC with Sarah Paulson, Ben Foster and Carla Gugino. No news yet about what’s in store for him next…but hopefully he will be back on stage soon. Reports are that he is a really sweet in person…and tres tall. The Diva’s kind of guy…who only gets better with age!
You may not know this but Michael not only acts but is also a fine painter. Here is a link to his gallery of art that is available for purchase.
He also has two great fan sites…

PASSIONS LITE
Now don’t get me wrong, I am no fan of Felicia Terrell. She managed to suck all the oxygen out of every scene she was in with her sarcastic smirks and her whining. My theory is that the DAYS casting department has to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find actresses that will actually make Molly Burnette and Nadia Bjorlin look good in comparison. And by the way, I have no idea who those two actresses are screwing to have such star power on DAYS…but I digress…
Gary Tomlin, the REAL Tsar of DAYS now, will not rest until he has managed to take a long-lasting beloved soap that has lasted for years and morph it into PASSIONS, a show that was written by his BFF James E. Reilly (lovingly known here as JERk) and was mercifully canceled. Where is the logic in this? If PASSIONS didn’t work the first time, why would it work now?
At least with the upcoming returns of Crystal Chappell, Wally Kurth, Kevin Spirtas and Louise Sorel, I will have the opportunity to recall that long-lost forgotten show. What was its name again? Oh yeah. DAYS OF OUR LIVES!

This week, he stars as Sky Masterson in GUYS AND DOLLS at the California Musical Theatre starting today, July 21st up until July 26th. If any of you constant readers live in California or are willing to travel there and see the show, please write the Diva and let her know how Jacky-Boy is faring these days on the stage. Last I heard, there are still tickets available.
Charles Shaughnessy in SLEUTH

Below is a link to Charlie’s 17-minute interview with WABC Radio about his upcoming performance in SLEUTH. He discusses working on the show, his life as an actor and his television career. In it, he says that he has “never had as much fun and laughed as much” as when he worked on DAYS. It’s worth checking out just to hear that fabulous voice again!

Diva on Facebook
Diva has gone public and that should make my loyal readers very happy. Now there will be some people who will be probably spitting nails, but really do I care? Some people thought they could come here and make me back down with their silly threats...name calling...and other juvenile things, but obviously this move proves their threats did nothing to me, but to give me an idea on how people are these days. Either way it is water under the bridge and Diva moves on!
I hope my faithful readers will come join me at facebook. Just go and push the facebook badge and you will be linked to my page.

Will it Excite You?
OK, so am I supposed to get excited?Dr. Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) is coming back three days just to prop up the already overly-propped Chloe Lane. Woo-hoo…so what? This is about as exciting as the news that Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) is coming back for a recurring role, undoubtedly to prop up the overly-propped Phillip Kiriakis. Seriously, why flaunt these still-sexy older male actors, taunting those of the longtime viewers who can still stomach what DAYS has become, only to use them in recurring roles and supporting parts to the newbies?
You know what would excite me? If DAYS would write a real storyline for a character over the age of 30. Let’s see Maggie divorce Mickey and have an affair with one of the young hotties. Let’s see Justin Kiriakis come back and be a bad boy and restart the Kiriakis/Dimera war. Let’s see Craig Wesley have a real storyline…you know? The one that he never got on his first run on DAYS, besides being comic relief with wife Nancy.
And for those of you who think Crystal Chappell will set DAYS on fire...guess what? She’s over 30 and will be disposable. Because Gary Tomlin (and I say Tomlin because he is the real runner of the show…just as Dick Cheney was really president!) cannot stand anyone over the age of 30. Just ask Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans about that. They’ll tell you. So someone really needs to warn Crystal that regardless of whatever that ass said to her to get her to come back to the show, he was lying!
DAYS is just following the same pattern as all the other soaps seem to be doing, tossing out the loved vets with history only to hire vets from other soaps…just so they can backburner them for their all-important newbies that have all of the charisma of wet paperbags. Perhaps Louise Sorel's return as Vivian Alamain (that yours truly broke the scoop about -- no matter what liars take the credit for it later) will break the pattern, but Diva wouldn't bet the farm on it.
You know what would excite me? If the soaps actually cared about what their viewers wanted to see for a change…

History 101
Yes, this a youtube video about the Jonestown Massacre that so many of you refuse to learn for yourselves. Thank goodness, the All Powerful and All Knowing Diva is here for a history lesson. Pay special attention at the 12 minutes and 30 seconds mark where Jim Jones's son and the host discuss the origin of the phrase "Kool-Aid drinker."
Actually, yes the Diva is planning on starting her own podcast with the Diva Spy Network. Unfortunately, that means a lot of us have to start watching DOOL again. lol But we suffer for our art. The Diva is also All Forgiving, and will accept any sincere apologies from the spammers who called me a racist.
Someone's been drinking the Kool-Aid part 2

The Kool-Aid man is not a racist! lol
The dude on youtube has responded to my blog about his ramblings. He actually played the race card on the Diva. Since he's so found of Wikipedia, he should look up references to "drinking the Kool-aid." It is about Jim Jones and his cult followers who drank poisoned Kool-Aid and died. The saying has nothing to do with race.
Oh great, let's talk about Crystal Chappell again. Corday said that CC was "not in the same store" with the DOOL actors he fired. Thus, she's paid a lot LESS than them. But this guy thinks the exact opposite. Yes it is an insult to fans to hire an actress that doesn't have a fanbase on DOOL to replace 5 actors that do. CC's popularity did not save GL even with the massive amount of press she gets for kissing a girl once. Oh, and the ratings have gone down since Tony's death week. That week, the show had 3 million viewers, and hasn't hit that since. It's safe to say that 1/2 million fans tuned out after the ten millionth death of Tony DiMera.
Sorry, I've never been to the Kool-Aid drinkers site. Someone posted 2 links of his here in the comments section. It could have been himself doing it to get publicity from me. lol

Y&R bloggers can't stand The Douchebag too!

Seriously, douching twice in one day is a bad idea.
Wow. One of my followers found a Y&R blog dissing Daytime Confidential and The Douchebag. So you know I have to spread this link around. Glad to see that fans from other soaps share the same opinions that us DOOL fans have.
Thanks so much for sharing your interesting links with me. I know it is hard sometimes to post under a name in the comments. Feel free to put your name in your comment so The Diva knows who to thank.
Love you guys.

Ken Corday Fuck You

Another brilliant banner by wawame.
Thanks so much for the follower who posted the Ken Corday tribute in the comments section. In case you missed it:
Please feel free to use anything you see on the blog. If you use one of wawame's banners, it would be nice if you credited her. The Diva/luncheon banner on top is now sized for Soap City by request. Spread the youtube clip around too. Please feel free to post in the comments section anything you find of interest that you think the Diva would enjoy. Thanks so much for the contributions already!

Luncheon banner!
Wawame, the banner is too big for the Soap City board. Could you resize it? Thanks! I've been getting some requests to use it there.

Ken Corday is a Major League Asshole

We're not gonna take it!
Just when you think that Ken Corday couldn't possibly treat the vet fans any worse than he has, he insults them in Soap Opera Digest. In case you've been living under a rock the past day, the Asshole told the vet fans that, "for the ardent John and Marlena and Patch and Kayla fans, great, you can still see them at their luncheons. That was then, this is now." Oh, isn't that nice! He's obviously taking a pot shot at Stephen and Marybeth and their fan who recently had a luncheon. Stephen and Marybeth are total class acts. They had their luncheon after they were fired. What a rude thing to say to fans. What really pisses me off, is that we could have hundreds of thousands of fans writing into SOD complaining about what the Asshole said, and those chickenshits wouldn't publish one. Do it anyway! Write in.
SOD asked the Asshole why return Crystal Chappel and Wally Kurth instead of vets we actually want to see, and he said basically that CC and WK are cheaper. And CC is going to bring in a lot of fans. He still doesn't believe any vet fans left. The Diva left months ago. Just from looking around the boards, I'm not the only one. BTW, WK is on recurring. So you know his return is going to be a dud. It'll be as interesting as Judi Evans' return as Adrienne. Bummer. I was excited about Justin Kiriakis. Oh, and Miss Judi has a short term gig with As the World Turns coming up. Good for her! Judi has been wildly popular on every show she's been on.
I don't have the magazine yet, but apparently the Tony and Anna fans got left out of the fan base bashfest. That seems like such a major snub to me that he wouldn't even think of returning Tanna or even mention them. They killed Tony off for nothing but cheap ratings. The Kiriakis/DiMera feud is over. Stefano's back to being a meddlesome granddad. EJ's still being duped by his bride. Blah Blah Blah Kate's gone off the deep end. *Yawn* Wake me when it's over. Oh, and the Asshole is very happy with Molly Burnett. Seriously? I had no idea.
Carly and Dr. McPervy are going to be in a quad with Bope. Oh joy. The Diva is seriously going to hurl if Dr. McGropey even looks at Hope the wrong way. The Asshole of course takes all the credit for the Carly return by suggesting something fresh for Bope. So the lack-of-brain trust come up with the same storyline they gave Billie but changed her name to Carly in the scripts. He said it wasn't a reward for Peter's emmy nom. In case you haven't noticed, last year's Emmy nominees are all gone from the show. Watch out Peter!
The cover of SOD mentions cancellation. We all know that the morons running NBC aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. DOOL is consistently number 3 in the ratings, very closely behind the Bold and the Beautiful for second place. So why is NBC even considering cancelling the show with so many soaps doing worse?
The Diva's ready to start a revolution. Let's all send tea bags to the studio and the magazines. It's time to take our show back before the Asshole gets it cancelled for good.
